Sounding like my ol' dad...

Just ordered a thermostat & gasket.
The little rubber gasket for the thermostat housing costs have the price of the actual thermostat on my N57.

So, in the style of "Open all Hours"...

"That will be £13.17 + VAT please sir"
"H-H-How much !, Its only a r-r-rubber band really, thar knows"
Parts Dept person remains impassive and unfazed, clearly quite use to customers having a coronary when informed of the surprisingly high cost of seemingly unremarkable parts.
"I think I need to lie down, can you get second-hand ones ?"...

Somehow if the thermostat was £10 more and the gasket £10 less I would have felt less ripped off. Odd that !

Lol earlier today I had a contractor tell me my quote was twice what he had put in at tender... I just had to chuckle and tell him that he'd clearly not allowed enough in his budget - which was only met with an eery and unamused silence!

Mind you I went away and knocked off 20% - I bet the BMW chap just sweated it out and took your money!
