Shiv, the user software for this is still the 3.121 that was out with the 7-29 maps, right? Doesn't look like the version has changed, so I wasn't going to bother changing over to it (I'm already on 3.121), but from the way your post sounded in your forum, you made it sound like a new revision that must be downloaded along with these new maps and firmware.

Can you pls. clarify?

hi SHIV,

First thanks a lot for your great work.

Today I ran with the newest map and firmware. The car run very smooth and with much power, the lag and gearshift speed improved a lot. I had not codes about new firmware, the DME adapted very fast. Now with the lag fix II Logic the response is similar even better than valed mode (with 8-9 psi)and the Throttle Lag Fix really works. Now with this new beta version based on 9-9, the engine runs smoother for me.
I think that Shiv no only has achived the improvement of power of N54 engine, he too has achieved the smooth and fast response (lag issues)that the first maps had not.

Cheers

Shiv,
just to make sure, with these maps I will not be able to use both map settings like I do with 09-09 beta maps with map1 set for 91 and map2 for 94 with changes in ignition correction?

after upgrading to me the car didnt feel as fast...
the older version i could feel more "pulses" of power on hard acceleratoion. and seemed to get up to speed faster.??? (all stock settings)

for me to go back, do i have to go back to the old firmware as well as old maps?

or can i keep the newer firmware with with ver 9 maps?

For the first time, we have mapping conditionals that depend on whether the transmission is in D or DS/manual mode. More on that later. I'd say, go back to older firmware if you are going back to older maps.

Yeah, and so for those who are on valet mode by default and switch to a map upon startup, til now, it didn't matter if you chose map 1 or 2 (assuming you left both at their defaults, which meant they were the same). So now you have to be careful not to pick map 2, otherwise, hell will break loose?

Dangerous if you ask me... Shiv, did I understand that correctly?

Shiv stated in the documentation thread on his site:

"Map2 is a dedicated high output Race gas/Methanol map. With user Torque set to 90%, Ignition Correction set to 0% and Stg 3 hardware installed on the car, this map will run 120-125mph trap speeds. For obvious reasons, it is disabled in the User Adjustable menu (both ON and OFF button maps are set to Map1). More on this later. Please do not activate this map until we release the methanol documentation over the next few days. This is a serious map. Do not take it lightly."

I'm assuming by reading the above, that if you select either Map 1 or 2 via the DTC button it will still only go to Map 1.............just make sure you don't change the settings in the "User Adjustable Parameters". Leave both "On" and "Off" button Map settings to select Map 1 as installed and you won't risk accidently going into Map2.

wow...120-125 traps on stock turbos! now just imagine the asr upgrades with ~100+ hp an making use of every pony. if we are trapping up to 125mph on stockers, 128-130mph should be possible with the upgrades?

Hey Shiv, Great stuff but

How is this??? i want map 1 to be a daily driver running 94 octane... and map 2 to be the "M-Sport" unleash the wrath mode also running 94.... im not too sure about my my maps configuration -- please let me know if its safe for the car and done proper

Loaded 10-9 (stage 1) running 94 octane all times

it may seem i configured map 1 to be almost stock - but i want it mainly to be smooth and more efficient than stock but has more power when I punch it than stock.
im just posting up the numbers havent loaded it, obviously.

If i change my "Off" Button Map to 2 can i then use map 2 via DTC ? is it SAFE to do this?

Also OT question:

Is Ignition correction more aggressive on Stage 3 versus Stage 1 even though they are both set at 100%?

Thanks
Still learning about all these settings... Please reply if you can.

I checked this issue this morning:

1)Map2: by default with the stage 1,2 or 3 (map 10-9), UT=60% and Ign.Correction=100.
2) When you push DTC bottom (with default adjusts) swicht to 1 and 2.

After that, I will not use the map2 until SHIV tells me something. Although I think that map1=map2, with differents set up. If it is difference now, SHIV must lock the selection from DTC bottom.

Lots of people running default configurations on stage 1 and stage 2. These maps are more than enough performance IMO as they are. I tested stage II deafult everything, and all I can say is man oh man, look what has been done with the N54. A year ago, I would never have believed we'd be here today. Back when I was tuned, running Dinan stage 2, I somehow always felt like yeah the car was fast, but not really fast enough. Now? Go drive a PROCede Rev II car with stage 2 or 3, its a revelation. Way fast for a DD car. Enough that you probably wont feel much need for more, unless you are one of the E90 addicts type on these boards who always need the next fix no matter how stoned out they are. The car is so smooth, yet so fast. Leg goes down, and the flood gates of power just open up. No slam in your back or anything unrefined like peaky torque, just torrents of endless reserves of power unleashed. Triple digit speed in the time it takes you say "Holy crow...".

Yes correct, same version 3.121 software. No need to update if you are already running that.

Correct... just for the time being. I'll give more info about map2 next week. It can be used as a higher octane map as well as a full-on high output drag race map. Just hang time for the next few days until I give more info about it.

I just got back from Stuttgart, couple of WOT pulls merging onto the autobahn, smooth, refined and NO let up after the shift. Clutch in/Clutch out and it just keeps pulling. Speed Delimiter works too, although I didn't stay above 130 for too long (H rated tires).

Great Stuff Man, Great Stuff. Can't wait till the harness upgrade gets here so I can get busy fine tuning.

Gentle usability suggestion.

Shiv, why don't you adopt better naming standards for the releases. I mean all this stuff gets confusing to people. Make it idiot proof. Call all the releases firmware, user software, and maps the same version number for everything that goes together. If you come out with a new map that only works with a newer release of firmware, just release a new version with the same major version number even if nothing has changed. All version 3.0 software, maps etc ought to be compatible. You can 3.04, 3.1 map etc, but it should all be able to work with every other combination of version 3.xx Next one is 4.xx for everything across the board. As it is now, its confusing where firmware is v141 Maps 10-9 user software 3.121.... you get the picture. Unless I am really paying attention and reading stuff in detail, I can easily get lost. A side benefit is it will reduce tech support calls from people who fubar the updates. Less people mixing stuff and then coming on here saying "oh my God, my dash lit up like a chrismas tree with a gazzilion ses, cel, puking godzilla icon, etc after I isntall PROCede. It broke my car..bra, bra, bra."

Yeah, I'm waiting on the CANbus wires. Paypal'ed Thursday I believe. I think I'm the last person on the planet with a non-CANbus revII.

Its retarded fast though. I giggle like a girl and grin like an idiot every time I get on the autobahn behind a Porsche.
