Help me read my Cobb log...

So I think I sort of understand how this works....

Below is a view and the csv file (rename from .txt) of a pull for my car (2007 335i, auto, running stage 1 sport map).

I logged from a stop all the way through the shift to fourth (since I haven't yet been very good at getting a single-gear pull). DTC/DSC completely turned off. Not sure if the auto shifting has anything to do with it, but I'm trying to figure out if the TPS closure is normal or an issue. Doesn't hapen all the time, last time it did it between 1-2 but not from 2-3.

Is it an overboost issue? If so, what should/can I do?

I don't think the timing corrections are an issue - this is the first time I've seen 3 cylinders in one log, usually it's none or maybe 1. Am I reading that right?

Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

A.

OK....I am misreading it then. Looked back at the "Datalogging with Cobb" thread that showed me the basics...now realize the examle he has of the TPS closure is mid-pull. Are those dips I see in TPS where the shift is occuring, and I'm seeing it becausse I'm logging across gear shifts? I think that's a "palm-meets-forehead d'uh!" moment.

But if that's it, why didn't I see it in a couple other logs on the shifts from 2-3? On those, TPS stayed pretty much flat.

thanks!

I am planning to live with sport for a little while then go to aggressive....

i have some Throttle closure during shift as well , those are more pronounced on low gears . as long as it does not close during the pull is fine.

if you have good 93 octane gas try the aggressive.

there is an excel done by zasquatches which is better to open logs. there is a thread around.

Thanks. I do have (and always run) Shell 93. Will play with the agressive soon.

And I did see the thread with the excel template, will try it (but must say the virtualdyno was really easy).

For me, I prefer Virtual dyno when I'm looking at a log. But excel graphs when posting the graph on a forum. I wish VD had an option to use separate scales on each side of the graph rather than auto scaling all the channels.

As far as the throttle closures enrita has hit the nail on the head.

Thanks guys.

I have to say, this is the most fun I've had with a car in a long, long time (probably since high school/early college when I had a '78 Camaro)
