18x9.5 F ET35 and 18x10.5 R ET27, Pre-LCI E90

Hi guys!
I currently still have my stock 16's on and never got a set of wheels yet so I'm somewhat new to the wheel game.
But, I've been looking for wheels forever and now a friend is willing to sell his set of EC-7s (one of my favorite wheels) from his E46 m3 for a good deal.

I've been looking around the forums for answers on the setup and so far I've seen mixed comments, and nothing exactly answering my question.

The setup is:

18x9.5 Front ET 35
18x10.5 Rear ET 27

Hankook Tires 225/255

Will this fit a Pre-LCI E90?

I know it's probably been done and all but I'm not trying to have one of those cars with problems and rubbing and issues just to have that "aggressive" look. I'd honestly prefer the problem-free 8.5/9.5 ET 35 setup, but this is a great deal so that's why I'm considering it.
(I also have H&R Sport springs to be installed as well)

& Of course I've been trying to stay away from rubbing and fender rolling but will I have to?

Thanks guys!

Good size tires (what brand? hankook v12's and falken 453 to get the narrow sidewall), good size wheels no doubt. What shocks are you going to pair the springs with? The drop might be too low if your shocks are high mileage/almost done. But I doubt you'll be rubbing, maybe with a full load of passengers.

Go for it.

Did you have to roll your fenders?

No problem.

I got the rears rolled a couple of days ago...but only because the coilovers are wound all the way down. And even then they were only just catching the arch as it only required a gentle roll. With standard sports suspension I had no rubbing, a decent drop on the coils I had no rubbing.

I think the wheels your looking at getting will stick out only a few mm's more as even though your wheels are wider than mine, mine have more aggressive offsets.

I'll correct myself. I don't think they will stick out more. They will be a few mm's more inside the arch than mine.

Apologies, its 4am here and I've been at work since 6pm so my concentration isn't up to much. Haha

I'm running 19x9.5 all four, front offset 33, rear offset 12, all 235/35/19, front v12 tires, rear PSS tires. On suspension technique coilovers, fenders right above the tires. Front no rubbing anywhere and are rolled, rears rubbing if I didn't shave the rear fenders, now I don't rub on all 4 sides.

Yes it will fit.

You will have 2mm inner clearance at your front shocks with 18x9.5 et35. If you ever going to change to coilovers, then spacers is needed, because those are thicker.

You can use 235/40/18 tyre at front and even add 5mm spacer. It still won't rub.

I know that, because i have that exact setup. 18x9.5 et35+5mm spacer with 235/40/18 hankook ventus and HR sport springs.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...3&postcount=39

This is the same setup without 5mm spacers.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=732577

Front will work also with 225/40/18.

Your rear would stick out 8mm more compared to my rear setup. Its close call it might rub slightly, if you don't get your rear fenders rolled.

My rear setup is 18x9.5 et22 with 235/40/18. I did try it with 10mm spacer (final Et12) and it only rubbed, when hitting bigger bumps etc. Fender roll would solve that. 9.5 et12 will extend 2mm more than 10.5 et27.

I really suggest that you buy that setup, it will look pretty good and 100 times better, than the basic 8.5/9.5 et35. Fender roll isn't a big deal.

I wanted more aggressive wheel setup ,so i ordered new wheels. These will be installed next week.

18x9.5 et22 with 225/40/18 front
18x10.5 et15 with 255/35/18 rear

Also will be changing to coilovers at the same time.

thanks a lot! this really gives me a good idea about it. i'm glad to know that the front definitely fits and it looks great on your car btw! Is it better/safer to have the 5mm spacer up front or is it just whatever i prefer?
Again, i really appreciate the info!

Thank you and no problem. In my case the 5mm spacer is only, because i wanted. The 2mm gap is fine and wont cause any problems. Only if you bend the wheel it might start hitting the struts. I drove last summer without the spacer and had zero problems. I also have this Hub extender with my 5mm spacer.

Here is one E90 with those specs, but size is 19 inch.

No problem i'm glad i can help. Here is 10.5 et27 with 275/35/18

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=682471

You are going with 255/35/18 so it will fit easier, but still like i said before you probably need slight fender roll. It's not big deal nobody wont notice it and it will look a lot better with more aggressive wheel.

Sorry OP to barge in, but pretty much have the same question: I have Miro 111 8.5/9.5 setup now and planning to go square, am I better off getting 9.5et22 for the front or 33/35? Will be running 235/35/19 tires. Thank you!

I'm running front 19x9.5 et 33 with 235/35/19 Hankook v12 tires, I could run a 5mm spacer but I would do that with a 225/35/19 tire. Right now I do not rub on stock camber settings and my fender is just right above the tire.

What's your current 9.5 rear offset? I'm guessing you are planning to buy only 2 new wheels?

^^ I am, but the place offers to order any offset since it will be a custom order. Rears are 9.5 et33 and I am running Eibachs for now but planning coil overs. Thank you!

What i would do is to put your current rear 9.5 et33 to front and then order 9.5 et22 to rear. That way your front wheel will match the rear better. In my opinion rear wheels need to be more aggressive than front wheel or at least on the same line if looked from behind.

This one had 18x10.5 et20 and 245/35/18. Fenders are not rolled, but some negative camber added and it rubs sometimes on hard dips or when he have full car.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=643595
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=737286

So compared that to your setup your tyre is 1cm wider, but at the same time your offset is 7mm higher. So the top of the tyre will be almost at the same point.

Not enough stretch for your offsets.
