Not really. Just make sure you're purchasing the one that works with your car (harness type). Also, Terry can be a bit weird helping you if you purchased the JB4 used. He wants everyone to purchase a brand new shiny one and to those who do not need them just throw them in a drawer. Just depends what you need from him.

True, and the maps are pretty stable from all the testing/use they've had. Though I'd still recommend the Cobb AP, I know it isn't always cost efficient to get one.

IMO their is no downside to owning a Jb4. Your car will make well over 400hp with just e85 and around 380 to the wheel. On a rwhp to bhp conversion it says my car should be making 485 bhp that as much the first gt-r and close to z06.Not say it will be as fast but . it will easily walk almost any stock v8 muscle car.I would highy recommend getting the G5 stage 3 board. Consider this if you want to stay stock you will make alot more hp and if you go modded you will make alot more hp. If you get new or used get the g5 stage 3 . Get new terry BMS will go out of his way to make sure you happy and will help you with everything.

you will go thru back tires quicker? otherwise i dont see many downsides on getting a used one as long as it isnt missing pins or anything like that.
i also suggest getting a usb cable with it as it is very useful to do some data logging and code reading |

I purchased mine used from a member here and I've had 0 problems with it. You get to save some money and it works the same way a new one would. Just make sure you get the right harness and youre good to go.

Definitely, you'll notice it the second you drive it after its installed. Its probably the best performance gain you can get for the money. Dont think theres anything else that has a better power to $$ ratio.

Stick with 1 map and drive it. There are no ill effects from driving on a performance map on the highway as the same amount of power is still being made to sustain highway speeds or drive around town. The only time you are making your car work harder is when you are under heavy throttle. Only downside to used is the potential for bent pins, broken connectors, or the wrong harness type for your vehicle. There is also limited tech support. |

tunes. I just figured that the engine wouldn't last as long if it was being stressed with higher psi than stock. I'm only at like 13k so that's why I'm being over protective!! |
