Fattest tires possible?
What are the fattest tires possible i'd be able to get on a set of 19" rims?
I love the beefy look of the PS2's on the 18" m3 rims and want to get the fattest tire possible on some 19s on an e90 lci 335i. Help please! |

It really depends on what offset and width your 19's will be
Let us know some of your wheel choices so we can respond back with proper tire sizes |

The rears on the m3 with 18s are 265/40 which is surprising as it looks a lot chunkier as you say. It could be the actual shape of the Michelin tyre itself. Different brands have different shapes and profiles (like more rounded / squarish edges etc..). Changing the aspect ratio of the tyre from the recommended for 19inch rims may not be such a good idea though. The whole rolling circumference would increase and (..skipping a few steps as i dont know the details..) basically your speedo would not be showing the your actual speed.
when researching some 23in rims for a cayenneS a few years back I remember the suggested tyres were 315/25. I thought that 25 profile tyres were far to thin for crappy sydney roads and when I asked about thicker tyres they said it would only be possible with a speedo recalibration or stretching smaller width tyres with larger aspect ratio. |

These are the tires I use, I get a little rub when going over speed bumps, but other than that, they work really well. Although I need to dump the clutch at 7k rpm to burn out...
