Exhaust Fumes

Picked my car up last Thursady. 5 miles on the clock. However on cold morings theres a lot of white fumes coming out the exhaust. I know this is normal but mine is giving out what I think is above normal/average (basically a lot). It starts when I put the transmission in D-drive (Auto) and without even touching the accelarator.

Do new cars do this, do I need to be concerned? Do any one alse have this problem or do you I need to get it checked?

On the same note the car Drives fine.

Funny, thought exactly the same thing yesterday.

I drive an e46 325ti and even after 300kms of chasing Audis on the autobahn it would bust out steam like an old train

Must be normal then

That's normal on all cars....it goes away once the engine is hot.

Hmm, I assume that after 300 kms with an average speed of 160 km/h the engine canīt get any hotter.

Its just steam

The BMW exhaust internal design seems to make the steam more visible when it exists, especially when cold

Water vapour coming out of the exhaust is perfectly normal when both the air and engine are cold. It can also happen when the engine is hot. It depends on the temperature and humidity.
