iPhone help

Could someone please explain how I can get my music playing through the idrive?

I have searched the forum and spoke to BMW to no avail.

It's a 2007 e92 with the older version idrive.

If I was to purchase the iphone snap in adaptor would that work? As I currently have to use an aux lead.

Aux is the only way on a 2007 older style Pro Nav.... The snap in adaptors are for phone functions only, not for music.

Seems like a completely pointless option from BMW then really to have the snap in cradle

I've heard about the blackberry gateway for bluetooth streaming music. Can't tell anything more since I have the newer Idrive. You might wanna start your search from there.

The snap in cradle connects a phone to the cars power so charges it and also connects it to the antenna on the roof for better signal reception. Thats all it's really there for.
