Here's some 5W LED spots that might work. Depends how focused the beam is but as long as it hits the little glass light pipe thing, these might do the trick.

A 5W LED will be a load lighter than a 10w halogen too in theory. Plus, given the higher wattage of the LED over a standard one, it might not even need the bulb checking coded out?

On second thoughts most of the bulb is going to be exposed in front of the reflector and that will ease the heat dissipation but then we are left with the light focussing problem and the reflector probably will not contribute any thing since the LED bulb is so much forward placed with regards to the reflector. Well it is worth a try to see if it works. If it does then you guys have got a cheap and a lasting solution to the BMW bad design.

I went ahead and ordered just a standard halogen bulb rather than anything LED.

I went with this one from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I test fitted it, and can confirm it all works as expected. No errors.

So, cheap £4.50 fix .... rather than £33.
Just wish id tried before I spent the 33....

Why should you need to code out? This is a regular bulb with correct wattage. Just replace and it is done.
