BMW PE would be my first choice and it doesn't affect warranty. But at £1200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......

Anyone know if I can get an exhaust system for £500 (ish)? ...Brand new from a reputable brand which will fit perfectly and has no history of cracking, rusting, breaking issues? Not some Halfords ebay replica sh1t. Or should I spend the £500 on an aero front lip?

Not sure where you're based, but I'd get a custom one made for less than £500. Powerflow or any similar outfit. Just Google for reviews before you book anything - not all Powerflow dealers are created equal...

A BMWPerf exhaust will only keep your warranty.......on the exhaust.

Fitting a aftermarket replacement exhaust backbox won't effect your warranty at all, you just won't have any warranty from BMW on the exhaust, or anything it might damage.

No diiferent to kitting a Kwik Fit exhaust, that's not BMW but it won't effect your warranty.


A bastuck back box is about £600, great quality and sounds great too, good used value too when you sell on.

Or you could have something pukka made up by somebody like Hayward & Scott?

+1 for bastuck - Sounds the bollocks...

BMWPE sounds great on a standard exhaust but get raspy with catless downpipes. For noise alone Bastuck would be my choice.

VRSF are just releasing a new catback exhaust with a 3.5" single mid pipe, meant to save lots of weight and sound great! They are also very well priced -£700 ish inc shipping iirc...

I've got the VRSF catback on mine and I've also just been sent their updated backbox which is supposed to be more aggressive. I like the sound at the moment but I have to raise the ride height on my coilies as it scrapes badly on the mini speed humps. So at the moment I'm aiming for the gaps in between them which isn't always possible.

In fact I was very naughty as I caught one of the clamps last week and had to drive the full day with the mid section removed. Sounded like a race car and popped and banged when lifting off. It also must've been popping flames as I had burnt some of the undertray panels on the car

VRSF have said that the exhausts shouldn't hang low, but have been fitted incorrectly by some. I'm guessing you fitted it yourself, can it be hung tighter to the body?

I removed and refitted it three times due to my various clutch escapades and it can't go any higher. Mine catches just after the downpipes which is fitted to them with 4 bolts and can't be adjusted. That part is so tight to the body that it has indented the heatshield (as it is supposed to). I don't think they have those sh!tty litttle humps in the USA.

Raising my coilovers slightly should help clear them hopefully.

I never saw the need for an exhaust with catless DPs. Sounds meant already when pushing it and stock and quiet when you want it to be. I love retaining the function of opening and closing the exhaust flap.

I hate those mini central humps. I cannot drive over them. I need to have a wheel go over the speed hump or it scrapes my whole underbody, and I am on H&R springs... So not stupidly low or anything...

The underbody of the e92 just hangs low stock...?

Definitely in of updates on the VRSF exhaust though... I thought version 1 was a little tame tbh...but you really can't tell too much from YouTube vids :/

I'm a bit confused as to how you replace the exhaust but keep the secondary cats for the MOT? How does that work as the exhaust seems to be in 1 peice beyond the downpipes.
