Black Kidneys?

Anyone have any thoughts, tips, advice on potential black kidneys for my new '09 E90? View in link below:

I was thinkin they might look better than stock not sure about CF vs Matte vs PlastiDip vs Performance. Any tips would be appreciated.

If you can spraypaint it and get along with it go for it its cheaper. I can't cuz it is bugging me. I prefer the OEM gloss black ones from Tischer!

If I were you I'd install the black grilles ASAP.

I just got the matte black ones from **********s. They fit and look great on my (plat br, pre-LCI) car. On your black car, the gloss ones might look better though. If you want those you can get the OEM BMW ones instead.

You can always plastidip it, it should look good if you do good and even coats. If you're looking for gloss kidney grills then a few coats of glossifier should do. Cheap and reversible.

Not really sure why you would bother making your own. The aftermarket ones are like $70 and OEM are $130.

Quick question, im thinking of cutting a little corner and plasti dipping mine matte black.

But i know plasti dip do the glosyifier as you said, but thats a paint as far as i know, surely the finish would be not smooth?

yeah note: more coats, thinner layers, 3-5 hours drying time... take your time.

I'm not sure, never used the glossifier myself but I'd imagine it's removable once you have it on the plastidip. It is a plastidip product after all.

i have a black e92, mine were matt black..but then i saw my mates his were gloss black on same colour car looked abit better...although matt black from abit far makes the air vents stand out more/slight more aggressive look.

now ive seen some carbon look ones...but then the grills at the bottom annoy me...too much black!? lol.

I would just plasti dip them personally, it usually comes out looking top quality if you do lots of thin coats of the stuff.

ill buy the glossifier and carefully add it on afterwards, if it doesnt look good, scrape it off or re do it!
