757 NC/OBX Drive

UPDATED DETAILS LAID OUT BELOW

When:
Saturday December 11th, 2010 @ 10am. (Brunch at 1030am)

Where:
Cracker Barrel
217 Hillcrest Parkway
Chesapeake, VA 23322
(Hillcrest Pkwy is right off of Hwy 168 which is the route we're taking to OBX)

Following a light brunch at Cracker Barrel we'll head out down Hwy 168 towards Nags Head.
( This is a toll road. $2 each way. You can figure out the math. )

Blow it out across the Wright Brother's Bridge (3.5 miles of madness).

This ride will take us one hour plus (depending on how we roll).

I know it's an extended ride for the Hampton crew, but trust me you will enjoy it.
The road is smooth, hardly any lights or traffic. Great opportunity for pix, so bring the cameras.

Late lunch, then head back up and disperse to our locales.
(Thanks MRM32U for this!)

***Feel free to add comments/suggestions below!***

INCLEMENT WEATHER DATE:
Saturday, December 18th, 2010.

I put the 4th, but I can almost guarantee I won't be able to make any of those. Especially a trip like that.

we need to get you in on one of these! You've missed a lot of good times. It's definitely a drive for me from Hampton, but absolutely worth it. Such a good group.

Yeah I know, school's super busy right now. Next semester my weekends should be a little more free hopefully.

I'm available on any of listed Saturdays.

Following a light brunch in Chesapeake, head out down Hwy 168 towards Nags Head. Blow it out across the Wright Brother's Bridge (3 1/2 miles of madness). This ride will take us one hour plus (depending on how we roll).
I know it's an extended ride for the Hampton crew, but trust me you will enjoy it. The road is smooth, hardly any lights or traffic. Great opportunity for pix, so bring the cameras. Late lunch, then head back up.

Let's roll. In the words of Megan, two snaps for Dennis.

after the drive I'm pushing for a peninsula meet ... maybe Town Center or Port Warwick, so hopefully you'll be able to swing that one!

Count me in, distance is no problem, just depress "M".

Megan, a peninsula meet sounds great. This time of year we just have to watch the weather.

If we want to do a Williamsburg cruise, you can't ask for a better start than this. I'm down. Gorgeous drive and great roads.

Definately. We all should know that VA's weather is unpredictable.. snowstorm to mid-70s in a matter of two days.. yeah, this really happened like 2 yrs ago.

Just got told I'm going out of town on the 11th, so my "free all month" vote just got changed to the 18th. The new OSS's will be plugged on by then.
