new ipod cable design
just drove 120 miles to have my ipod connector checked - spoke with SA - gave details - scratchy sounding connection ay AUX jack.
car was in service for about 3 minutes - SA called me and told me the the tech looked at it - then informed him that the cable in being re-designed - prob available in 2-3 weeks. glad i drove in for that piece of info that they should have given over the phone. anyone else here with the same prob? sorry if this is an old subject.....

Hmm... I wonder if my car will get it then. Those are put in at the VPC right? Mine should hit the VPC in about a month.

i believe that there are a couple of modules that are factory installed - it is just the cable - it has the standard ipod connector on one end, then splits into a Y - one side is a USB, the other a AUX connector (1/8 stereo jack i think).
this design was questionable from the start - it put a lot of stress on the connection in the center console - it had to make a 90 degree turn...... hope the fix has less tension.
