Meatiest tire possible for stock LCI X-drive?
Trying to find the widest/meatiest tire I can put on a set of 18's for a stock LCI e90 X-drive. I prefer not to roll any fenders or other mods to make them fit.
Wheel-size says 225/40R18 / 255/35R18 8.5Jx18 ET36 / 9.5Jx18 ET36 Anyone stepped them up to 235/265? |

I really can't imagine that's an issue. I have 245/40R18 on the front of my xDrive LCI wagon without any rubbing and room to spare, on 18x8ET28 rims. The rears should have more room.

Apex EC-7 wheels and PSS tires for me. Next set of tires I will run 255/285 or 255/295. It looks pretty meaty to me.

Dang nice, you didn't have to mod your fenders at all to make those fit? How do you like your Eibachs/Konis? What makes your Koni's custom? Your car looks like exactly the kind of drop I want!

Thanks, yes I have a slight rear fender roll. Originally I did not, but I found slight rubbing during hard cornering. My front Koni's are cut down 1/2" on the tube and 1" on the shaft. This lowers the front by 1/2" and provides a better feel.

Arg, so if I dont cut the Koni's then the front might look too high? I thought springs dictate the height? |

Thanks for liking my ass!
With the Eibach springs, the front is 1/2" too high for my taste. The spring rate on the Eibach's feel great to me. Most people run with standard struts and it will still look ok. |
