First post (big problem just occurred)

Hi everyone, im new here.. And im gonna start this off with a bang! First off sorry for my writing skills i am french

2010 335i xdrive

So i have had 2-3 mornings in the past week that ive had rough idle on startup! Would go away after 1-2 min! Before yesturday my check engline light came on and stayed on.. Car ran fine. Today afterwork i started the car to what seemed to now be a subaru.. Check engine flashing, shaking and funny noises .. I turned it off started it back up and it seemed ok! I drove 3miles maybe? Felt like i was driving on flat tires rough rpms.. Smoking from the rear and smell of gaz. I had just over 1/4 tanks of gaz ! I drove back to work, so a total of 6 miles maybe less and my gaz tank completly emptied ..... Anyone had any similar problem occur..

Likely had an injector or two go bad on you. But you really need to pull the codes.

Sorry to hear this. It does sound like an injector is stuck open dumping fuel. I wouldn't drive it like that!

Codes will definitely tell the story.

Good luck!!

Yuck, don't drive it, tow it. Sounds like an open injector but that's a guess based on fuel smell, agree with others, GL.

Sounds like one or more injector is bad. Leaking fuel while sitting for long periods (ie overnight )

The fuel would leak into the cylinders.. just pull the codes, it's not hard.

You should always have a Honda as a back up car when owning a German car.

Good point. My Honda is way too practical, though......4 door and an auto.

Thats what I do!
Ironically my BMW hasn't let me down one time in two + years of ownership while my accord's ignition coil failed, dump too much fuel into the cat and destroyed the cat and left me stranded.

When I got my first 335i 3 years ago my dad mocked my car by saying it'll be the most unreliable out of the family cars. Turned out that my 335i was more reliable than all the Honda civics we have put together. Lol

Too be fair my accord has almost 190K now but I've had to fix plenty of things in this Honda since buying it at 140K miles from my FIL.

It just proves that things break on Hondas also, I don't believe anyone when they say "I've only had to do oil changes and tires"on their japanese vehicile.
