Costco Microfiber Towels
I went to Costco today and purchased a stack of Microfiber towels - 24 to be exact for about $11. Has anyone used these towels to dry their cars? If so, is it good?

from what i understand they're a lot better because they don't scratch up your car..........i don't know never tried them, some guy told me in the parking lot at the dealer when i went to go pick up my car....he had a black car so i guess they work well cause i didn't see any scratching you would get from drying your car with anything else....
i do use them for my lenses on my paintball mask, doesn't scratch, doesn't leave any furry stuff, and no residue from the water or cleaning solution.

hmm, been using an absorber, even with blotch drying, itll scratch the paint slightly. the microfiber may seem to take longer and be more annoying, but it wont swirl up the paint IMO

I'll use microfiber to wipe off that last bit of streaking that my waffle weave towel leaves behind. If you use an open ended hose to sheet the last rinse over the car it will leave very little water to dry off.

I use two of these towels to dry and recommend them:

I've used them and have no problem with them. I removed the tags from every cloth to prevent the possibility of scratches/swirls. I use about 3 or 5 each car wash. 1 or 2 to wash the car with the water/soap and I do the wheels last. Then 2 more to dry off the car...the only pain is having to wring out the cloth many times but the cloth is somewhat absorbant. Then I go through all the 20 or so cloths before I wash them really well in the heavy soil cycle in my washing machine.

Yeah me too. I have used this one for two years, works great. And, no wringing out constantly like my old absorber. Does the whole car, and leaves absolutely no streaks. I highly reccomend this one! http://www.properautocare.com/bigbludryint.html |

I dried my car saturday with my leaf blower... It worked GREAT!!! About the only place I had to use a towel was on the door sills and pillars. What water was left was easily taken care of during the QD wipedown.

I have the waffle weaves from Autopia also and I really like them. Some of the cheaper MF towels can still leave scratches. Not as noticeable on most cars but on my black car with the soft BMW paint it looks bad.

Are the costco pack mf towels yellow? If so just use them for interior rags ... they're worthless for exterior. Scratch like hell, and leave yellow fuzzy on everything.
I hate them so much I only use them with chrome polish to do my exhaust tips now. They definitely aren't a cheap substitute for waffle weave. |

I've been using it for months without any problem. You have to make sure that you've thoroughly cleaned your car to prevent dirt scratching your paint. Drying with mf towels is a PITA cus it takes forever. I just use that soaker thing. |

Its the catch 22 with jet black--looks so good when its clean, but you can screw it up pretty easily...

There are still some heavy scratches from when the dealer washed it but I've refined my washing and drying steps and it helps keep the swirl marks to a minimum. |

the costco by my house used to have them, but last time i went, i didn't see them. my friend told me they were fairly good quality.
as for drying your car, imho, the absorber sucks. i had one back in the day. a few years ago i switched to the mf waffle weave towel, and never looked back. http://www.pakshak.com/waffle-weave-...l-24x36-1.html

I use these to buff out Zaino products, love em, scratching is not a problem here. As for drying the car...leaf blower...'nuff said.

I use two waffle weaves from pakshak. No wiping. Just open the WW, place it on the car and remove. They suck the water right up. On the bottom of the doors and skirts I guess I wipe a little
I have a budget leaf blower(easy clean up after edging and mowing). I'll have to try that. Its not that powerful, but we'll see. |
