335is vs. Camaro SS
Hello everyone,
I swore I would never post about a potential matchup, but one of my closest friends swears up and down his completely stock 2011 Camaro SS (Manual) will walk my car. I drive a 2013 335is w/ JB4 G5, 20% E85, BMS DCI, ECS CP w/ BOV. And in a couple days I知 installing some VRSF silicone inlets. Any predictions on who would win this race? We池e planning on racing in the spring but by then I値l also have an upgraded FMIC and downpipes. |

Where are you "racing"? Straight line, road course, oval mud track, highway pulls?
The SS is pretty well setup car. I think it will be down to tires and driver.

It would be highway/straight line. Yeah I had one before my 335is lol. That痴 what I told him, the way my car is setup now it would be a drivers race, but once I install the inlets, dps, and FMIC it値l be a different story.

Definitely not walking you. Like said above, it'll be a drivers race. You should get a flash and meth with your setup

my brother has a 2011 Camaro SS, & it's a nice machine! nicely planted & very responsive for how big it is. one of the things i don't like about it is that the gears are very tall, which could give you an advantage. it's also another 400 lbs or so heavier so you'll probably hand it to him

I've run my 335i (bms dci, dp's, 7"ic, MHD stage 2+, Michelin PSS) against some stock and lightly modded (CAI, Exhaust) Camaro SS's from a dig and from a roll and I've won every time. Not that i'm some brilliant driver but they just aren't as fast stock as people think. Now, the ZL1 I tried to take from a roll... that was another story.

335is will definitely win with just a tune (more so if you have DCT). stock camaro is a pig, at close to 3900lbs and LS3 engine outputs just a bit more than a tuned n54.
last gen camaro SS is an pretty awful car to be in IMHO... had one as a rental for a few days and was glad that I was able to exchange it for the newer mustang gt. HUD was pretty cool though.

It wont even be close with just a tune. Stock you would probably beat a 2011 camaro ss. They run mid 13's all day long. 2016+ is a different story those would be a pretty close match with your mods.
With the downpipe fmic and inlets installed throw in a fuel pump and more e85 and you should edge out hellcats. My car for example on stock turbo's is faster than my buddies stock 6mt hellcat from a dig or roll. Last edited by byebyev8; 01-03-2018 at 09:26 AM.. |

FCA really needs to make a new lighter chassis.

Even up here at almost 4,000 DA in summer Hellcats are trapping 122-124 stock. It's going to take one hell of a strong stock turbo N54 to match that and there is no stock turbo N55 on the planet touching it.

We had a Hellcat running in our group at the track (Summit Point) last year.
It was untouchable in the straights, but was absolutely dead last coming out of the corners. The car is HEAVY, but fast! |

I sold my '15 SS and went back to an N54 E90, only things I can say I miss were the LSD and Magnetic Ride Control.

Fbo inlets and outlets jb4 with spixx e60 backend flash and I知 trapping around 120 with timing corrections in 4th and 5th gear do to iats also small boost leaks I found out later on. This was against my buddies 6mt hellcat with just a intake but his traps are 120-122. I would be ahead by a car or so on the street and his best 1/4 mile on drag radials matches my street tire best run of 11.9. Hoping to run mid 11s at 122-125 with meth and 17 drag radials this season. |

Actually the runs were back to back with jb4 max cool on. Not even a 15 min break between most runs since it was a tuesday night i had at least 13 passes all trapping between 118-120. My best 60ft was a 1.932 on the 11.9 pass at 119. Most runs were 12.0-12.3 at 118-120. Remeber i'm not talking about an auto hellcat those run mid 11's at 123-125 from what ive seen. This was my co-worker/ buddies 6mt 2016 challenger hellcat.
