really I haven't noticed, actually it connected some freeway connections for me. Hmm interesting. What errors and "craps" are you seeing. I know they did go with another company for 2010, so it's not navtech anymore, maybe that's why. Navtech sucks balls too tho lol

In my case, I purposely deviated from the suggested route and it wasn't able to figure out which road I was on. On another deviation, it kept on telling me to make U-turns even thou going straight would have been must faster and direct. It kept telling me to make strange unnecessary turns. Resulting in more time wasted In a few cases, it cannot clearly identify where I was. I thought it was supposed to be an improvement over the previous. After using it for a few days, I just can't stand the bad navigation anymore.... |

Can't get 2009 maps to work on e53
I have a 2006 x5 and am wondering if anyone has a link to the 2009.1 iso for a e53 MKIV nav system?
I've downloaded a couple of 2009.1 files via bittorrent, followed the Mac burning instructions and can't seem to get them to work (says its an invalid disk). Any help is appreciated! |

it took me a few disks before I got it to work. It matters for me to use the Memorex dvd-r SL. I tried Sony, Memorex +R DL with no luck. Thanks for the info! Mine is an 07 and it did not need to turn off for 5 minutes after recognizing the new dvd.

Using a higher quality burner like the BenQ and a reliable media brand like Verbatim DVD+R DL discs can definitely contribute to better burn quality and compatibility. Slower burning speeds, such as the 4x speed you used, often result in more accurate burns, reducing the chance of errors during the burning process. It's great to hear that your updated DVD seems to be running smoother and quieter, and that the navigation and points of interest (POIs) are functioning well. Keep in mind that using official navigation discs from the manufacturer is recommended for the best compatibility and performance. Using burned discs might not always provide the same level of performance and reliability, but it seems like you've had a positive experience in this case. If you continue to experience good results with the burned DVD, it's a successful outcome for your situation. Just remember that burning discs can sometimes lead to compatibility issues or other unexpected behavior, so it's always a good idea to have backups and be prepared to revert to official discs if needed. |
