Hey all,

Im looking to get new rims but can't decide on whether I should go with 19s or 20s.

One of the factors I suppose would be the road conditions, but if there is anything else to consider, please do share your advice.

hmmm after the snowplow season its pothole galore. either size you gotta watch out.

Personally id go with 19s. If youre doing deep dish then 20s because the dish makes it look smaller

I have 19's and I wouldn't go larger but thats just me.

If you want the aggressive look I would go 19's and coil-overs.

20 for look, esp aggressive if you lowered your car as well

19 for driveability, less bumpy and harsh ride

I am thinking of lowering as well....just not sure how to donut (springs or coil overs). Any suggestions?

Go with 19's, especially if you are lowering your car...and double check those rear offsets...they don't always look like the set up in pictures... you'll kick yourself later when you are rubbing on every bump and spending more money on camber adjustments, spacer options and fender rolling...unless all of those things are what your looking for then get aggressive!!

Both 19's and 20's look great on the E92. As far as ride quality, there really isn't that much difference between the two and regardless the size you go with, you'll have to drive a little more cautious than you do now.

As far as offsets, most wheels will come in the ideal offsets for your car. We have plenty of options, including the Vertini Magic Concave on our website. Have a look and shoot me a PM if you have any questions!

I would do 19's if you drive a lot and don't want the hassle.

Thanks for the helpful responses guys. I will do as most of you say and go with the 19's.

Oemconcept - I know we've chatted about these wheels before and finances (just got married) were holding me back but now that that's done, I am good to go. Please feel free to PM me a price on the 19's...rims only, no tires. Do you have the machined face with black windows in stock?

Sorry, I have to disagree with you completely.

I have 20" now and 19" before (just a month ago) ... both with Michelin PSS tires ... the ride is night & day, I can feel the road much more so on the 20 than 19 as road vibration travels up to the steering wheel on some rough and uneven roads.

So you never did say which size you have a preference for.

I know you're running 20s now, but in your unbiased opinion, do you think 20s are better?

I want good handling and since its a daily driver, I want a fairly comfy ride...not bouncing all over or harsh.

Daily drive - 19" would be much preferred. My 20" comes stock. Actually, I am thinking of doing KW V3 coilovers next spring. Just waiting for Group Buy (usually done thru RMP).

20" is simply for the look (as many may agree to my point of view). I don't even know how some can run on 21"+.

I agree.

Loved the look of the 20"s (had as a daily driver), but I couldn't push the car's performance. Downsized to light forged 19"s and it's great!

They look great but won't last unless theyre forged. Ive bent 2 sets of 19s (one set of 5 BBS CH) just through normal driving. If you insist just make sure you lose the RFTs. Also....there is a reason race cars use 18".

...Did you just say you want a LESS bumpy ride so you're going 19 WITH a drop?? That doesnt make any sense. ride firms up as you go lower. You realize that 19 and 20 (particularly) are just cosmetic mods..handling tapers off.

way to twist things

i meant i want a less bumpy ride when comparing the 19 vs 20 (i never mentioned anything about 18")

arent the 19s less bumpy than the 20s would be? let me know if they are not.

Why stop at 20" wheels? Get some 22's and buy some spray on rubber for the tires, that way you will never get a flat and it will look better than 20 inchers!
