Anyone with 100k on their 335??
Would really like to buy one but im worried about repairs and spending too much money on it. Looking to see how bad it is to own one with this many miles.
So guys with 85k +, upwards of 110k (yea, all 12 of you...lol) please chime in, post up major expenses. Not to worried about lilttle stuff, my best friend is a mechanic. looking at 07/08's (yea i know an 08 would be much much better) Last edited by Rival; 10-16-2012 at 03:56 PM.. |

I have 70,xxx miles on my 08 335i, I had both turbos replaced, alternator , both fuel pumps, 2 oil lines going to the turbos, had a bad oil leak got that fixed., water pump
Just make sure you buy an extended warranty BC if I hadn't I would be out thousands and thousands of dollars

I've got 95k miles on my 07 335i coupe
So far it's been pretty good. I bought it with 45k miles and modded it almost immediately. I've been running with JB3, then updated to the JB4, DCI, BOV + Stett Chargepipe. Few things have popped up: - AC motor died, but fixed it thanks to a DIY on here - my seatbelt retractor arm is 50/50 whether it works or not on both driver & passenger side - I have an automatic, and the shifter knob doesn't recognize when I go to "Sport mode". I've fixed this in the past by going in and re-soldering a few pinched wires. However, the problem has returned and I haven't had a chance to fix it yet... - AND NOW....Just a few days ago, I got a pretty bad oil leak so am actually in the process of changing out the valve cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket right now! Fun! but I think it's getting close for something new..... |

I'm at 79k no major problems but have CPO until 100k or until 2014 so I'm covered for the most part

I have 107k running: jb4, catless dps, z shift bov and charepipe, dci. Had to replace the water pump around 95k. The original owner got stuck with the hpfp and all the usual problems. Nothing major with the car yet and pulls hard.

well i have a camaro thats pretty quick. but its going to be sold and im getting a 325/330/335 and the lady is getting a TSX. So i will have one honda.
i know the 335 is going to be way more issues but again, i have a budy whose a mechanic. I worried about things that your going to need BMW diagnostic equipment so i was looking for odd issues/problems. a waterpump isnt bad, a valve cover gasket doesnt scare me....... im afraid of replacing turbos. or things on that level. |

also didnt all 08's have an oil cooler?? i know the bmw OEM unit sucks but at least there would be oil lines drilled, tapped and routed. All i would have to do is swap it out for a better unit.
I know 07's needed to have prem. package or only MT 335i's. The wife does not know how to drive stick and isnt going to learn in the next few yrs. Im prolly getting a auto |

I want a newer car that is still very fast, but more refined, something that can be driven in the winter (in chicgao) and is more everyday. the 335 fits the bill, i know it will cost a few grand a yr to maintain but i read the horror stories online and ponder in my head whether il be buying one or not. |
