Long term success lowered x drive?
Has anyone lowered their x drive on coils and had long term success without axel problems? Would a light drop prevent it or are we doomed either way? Nobody seems to report back after a year or two after being on coils. I have an 11’ 335 with 60k on it. It’s a pretty tight driving car all around, I’d hate to destroy it.

I haven't had any problems with my H&R street coilovers, I've had them for almost two years now. They're on the highest setting but the ride height is lower then stock.

Thank you eveyone for THe feedback. I’ve got kw v1’s ready to go for the spring. My e92 is a secondary car so alot of Miles doesn’t get put on it to begin with. I’ve had the v1’s for almost 4 months already and while figuring out my Desired wheel specs I came across a lot of information pertaining to this issue or broken cv joints and axles. This is my first awd car so it’s all new so far.
Would like to see some pics of the cars as well to show the ride height if at all possible. |

I've been in bc racing coilovers for about 8000 miles with zero issues!

I'm on h and r race springs and to make it worse I put the rwd "i" version springs instead of the awe version. I've gone through 2 axle replacements on each side lol. I'm pretty slammed tho.
What I've learned is if you need to replace the axles, the cheaper aftermarket ones aren't the worst option as long as you replace the inner boot with an OEM one. The axle themselves do not fail, the inside boot just tears from the new aggressive geometry of the axles. |
