Dilemma: Need some help

Guys, my Sibling has finally reached an age at which the law deems you responsible enough to drive (God help us). The search for a car begins for us and i just needed some advice.

I wanted a nice GTi but she thinks that is too mundane and un-premium. We are considering a used 2005 S4 Cabriolet, used 335i Coupe, an E46 M3 and a 2006-7 Z4 (She wants M but i dont think she would last a day with a manual transmission).

She loves the Honda S2000 a bit more than all above but i managed to convince her that it was a handful with the Manual and not a cool "look".

Observations and Suggestions Welcome

Edit: Just wanted to say that all of these cars are much more exciting than my E90 and i do harbour a tinge of jealousy at her range of choice.

get the s2000 or the Z4. She'll love the looks while you dont have to worry about a 16 year old with a turbo. 230 hp is still alot, but at least its not stonk fast, ya know.
If i would've recieved a 335i or S4 for my first car, I'd would probably be dead...

oh and the GTI was my first "Nice" car and to this day I consider it the best car Ive ever owned. I picked up a black 2005 MKIV 1.8T w/ low miles, premium wheels, premium sound, heated seats, leather, sunroof and carbon fiber interior accents for $10,000.

look into saturn sky's too. They're good looking and dirt cheap now.

S4. AWD can save newcomers, but the gas consumption isn't pretty as the car.

Would never buy that type of car as a 1st. She'll wreck those within the first year - watch, I'm an insurance agent and see it all the time. An M3 or S4 for a first car? Really??

x2 for what. I'm not a hater but most parents buy those cars as ego-boosters so that they don't have a crapbox parked in the driveway. A rabbit(Non-GTI)is already a good start and then you can really go and appreciate the next vehicle(since she will upgrade in a few years). My addiction to cars comes from the desire of always upgrading to something quicker/nicer.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will convey some of your suggestions.

The spoiled part may be partly true but knowing the way she is, she would be just as happy with an S2000 as an M3/S4/Z4, only that i don't think she can master a manual transmission. I really think the safety net that modern cars incorporate would ensure a reasonable level of safety and in the end, she knows better than to act foolishly.

Everything considered, the S4 seems to be better packaged than the others for now. I do think Quattro will keep the accidental hooliganism in check.

9MPG is a daunting prospect if we get back to $4/gallon though.

If it's just to look cool then a Miata is a better choice or if she want to (ball) get an EOS

I don't think she can master a manual transmission. The S2000 is also a knife edge racer, a Honda for proper drivers, not teenagers who think they drive better than Button.
