Mounting iPod touch in dash

Since getting my 335, I've been searching for a better HU. One with great iPhone/iPod touch integration, etc. After thinking about what I really want, I realize that I want my iPhone to be mounted in-dash. I was thinking of something that could snap-in in landscape and swivel out for portrait mode. It would need to be connected to the dock connector for charging and audio out. I think there is room in the HU area with the single DIN HU in place. Is there anything like that out there?

Ok, here's my thought right now: I can use the Metra double DIN and find a clip/mount that holds the iPhone in the double DIN section. I just need to find something like that.

edit: that won't work because there's no place to put the single DIN HU. Hmm.

Two options:

1) wait for the bmw station for apple iphone due out summer 2011 to german/french markets

2) look at the "oxygen o car iphone head unit"

Only works on 2010 and up I believe.

You could use the power mat charging station and a blackberry wireless gateway for complete wireless integration.

Then just fabricate a mount that will allow you to put it in the dash but also have it contact the power mat to charge.

I think I'm going to wait for that BMW dock to come out. That seems like exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully it won't be too expensive.
