"Imitation is the highest form of flattery"...at least that's what I hear. I can appreciate a persons passion to change anything into something it was never meant to be. That in itself is difficult and as we see here, costly and/or time consuming. I say "BRAVO!" dude, it's your dough, your car, you love it, thumbs up! Just don't try to pass it off as an authentic M3.

Some people here don't like my side skirts, not that it offends me. They didn't pay for it and I wanted to at least be different in that sense from everybody else who does M3 rep sides or whatever.

went thru the whole thread.
very interesting build project! Best of luck and great work there. Great effort as well. Will continue to follow this. Cant believe there are so many haters, why even bothering with a comment when he is gonna do what he wants at the end anyways.

Also find it funny how people say these comments are usually the people that don't work on their cars, because if people knew the amount of work that went into this, people wouldn't be saying comments like they did. If he wants to put a M3 badge, so be it. You know how many guys I see driving around with M3 or M badges. Sure I'm like but in the end its their car. I personally have a M3 front bumper on one of my BMW's, not because I cant afford a M3 (not bragging) I just LOVE the front bumper on the M3's. So why sell my car and get an M3, when I can change 1 thing on it and be happy? Less hate, More love. Thats what this forum needs. B |

Dimitris, phenomenal work sir, my hat is tipped in your honor.
I don't think many people realize just how amazing it is to be in America as a motorsports enthusiast. There are lots of fun cars, roads, raceways and talented people abroad but the governing bodies usually restrict the high-output items to the highest of income individuals. I've seen quite a few threads out of Sweden and Norway where A4 owners have installed RS4 drivetrains and bodywork for a fraction of an actual RS4. It isn't even the astronomical initial purchase price but the annual taxation that makes it very difficult to own the top shelf models. There is also a certain level of respect for the work someone like Dimitri has accomplished. The end is similar, if not better (individual adjustments to make the car just right for him, not BMW's business case study results) and is obtainable. He may not have the clout of a real M-owner or the resale value, but the grins and giggles are there in spades. Quote:

Yep, I'm about to go M3 style in terms of front and rear bumper covers and side skirts and I own a 325i, lol. I just dig how it looks on the car. Some have said I'll look like I'm posing, but that ain't it. I just want a better lookin' 325! Now if I were to pass it off as an M3(which I'd never do) or go slappin' an M3 or M/// badge on it, that would be another story. If only I could find an "MNot" badge.
