Leaks on my swirl flaps caused my car to drop power because a leaking boost, mine were in a slightly better condition than the ops.

I gained back circa 20 bhp.

Hey mate, great post and good job! I have just done the same process of stripping my manifold out, due to oil leak which i also found to be the flaps.
So after cleaning to manifold, literally till it looks like brand new, i then blanked off all the flaps, exactly the same as you, replacing all the seals at the same time.

The only thing which i never done, which i regret is not blanking off the EGR valve!
Whilst doing thr manifold, i had already taken the egr off, an also gave it a clean, even though it was pretty much clean already.

Would you recommend me to go back to step 1 an blank it off?

If the EGR is blanked off, wont that cause problems with the DPF regeneration?

I want rid of mine (and the EGR thermostat is fkd too) but wasnt wanting to remove it as i didnt want to ruin the DPF.
