2011 335d - Driver AE is Out, unable to clear FRM2

Hello

My Driver side Angel Eye is out and I have been unsuccessful at clearing the FRM2 short circuit count. I've have followed the instructions here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=625111 and I've not had much luck. I'm pretty sure my coding machine is setup correctly as INPA works and the tool32 software allows me to process jobs.

INPA shows the following error in memory:

E R R O R M E M O R Y ---------------------------------------
Date: 30.03.2016 18:07:00 ECU: FRM_70 JobStatus: OKAY Variant: FRM_70-------------------------------------------------------------
RESULT: 1 error in error memory !-------------------------------------------------------------
9CBB Kurzschlussfehler
Error counter: 1
Mileage 103736 km Batteriespannung 14.33 Volt Sensorspannung 0.33 Volt
Signal oder Wert oberhalb Schwelle Testbedingungen erfüllt Fehler momentan vorhanden und bereits gespeichert Fehler würde kein Aufleuchten einer Warnlampe verursachen
Error code: 9C BB 61 01 32 A7 CB 11 ================================================== ===========

I had a city lights LED angel eye in the housing and it must have blown. I replaced it with a halogen bulb and tested it before replacement. No matter the hexadecimal I put into steuern_reset_kurzschlussabschaltung or _reset_kurzschluss_sperre, the job does not give me an OKAY message, it is always a failure.

Can anyone shed some light on what is wrong? I've tried for two days now following the directions to a T and nothing. I'm almost willing to pay someone to remote into my system and reset it for me as I need to have this cleared by Saturday.

Run the following and copy results here: status_lampen_kurzschluss_counter.

Click 'job_status' in the Results list and press F5. In the results window, look for any counter that is above 0.

So I ran the jobs and the only two that did not show a counter was:

apiJob("FRM_70","status_lampen_kurzschluss_counter ","","job_status;stat_drl_links_short_circuit_coun ter")

Satz : 0
OBJECT = frm_70
SAETZE = 1
JOBNAME = status_lampen_kurzschluss_counter
VARIANTE = FRM_70
JOBSTATUS =
UBATTCURRENT = -1
UBATTHISTORY = -1
IGNITIONCURRENT = -1
IGNITIONHISTORY = -1
Satz : 1
JOB_STATUS = OKAY

AND

apiJob("FRM_70","status_lampen_kurzschluss_counter ","","job_status;stat_drl_rechts_short_circuit_cou nter")

Satz : 0
OBJECT = frm_70
SAETZE = 1
JOBNAME = status_lampen_kurzschluss_counter
VARIANTE = FRM_70
JOBSTATUS =
UBATTCURRENT = -1
UBATTHISTORY = -1
IGNITIONCURRENT = -1
IGNITIONHISTORY = -1
Satz : 1
JOB_STATUS = OKAY

All of the others showed counter = 0

So none of them are errored out? Checking INPA I see

E R R O R M E M O R Y ---------------------------------------

I'll add something else, I think my battery is getting low/old as I received a 'battery low level' error the other day. Also, something really strange, is that my rear tail lights seem to be on all the time now, as if the headlights are on. This happens even with the lights in the Off position. Very strange.

Random lighting staying on is classic symptom of faulty FRM

What format are you writing the hexadecimal values in?

Try: 0x1d and 0x1e

Update: js335ftw worked with me last night and we got it fixed. We had to reset the FRM2 module, then reset the lights. He put in standard numbers (e.g. "18") when resetting and that worked. I had put in hexadecimals and normal numbers, but was hitting F5 on the keyboard. JS went to the menu and selected 'run job once F5' and that gave the okay message.

For the record, on my car a 2011 335d the driver angels eye was number '18' when resetting the frm2 module in tool32.

Big thanks to JS335FTW for the assistance. I'm talking with the dealer in about an hour to sign my ED paperwork and appraise my car. I did not want any errors showing so they could knock a bunch of money off, so I'm glad it was fixed last night.
