GP Thunders, 2 pairs of H8 (4 bulbs) and 1 pair of H3 (2 bulbs). The whole set is 7500K from www.**********s.com

I don't have the OEM bulbs anymore, but I do have pictures of the before and after.

Hey all,

Thanks to the OP for the great vid. It really helped but I thought I might add something, since I just used up 90 minutes to put in the angel eyes.

The fog lights are 100% easy as shown in the vids. Took me 5 minutes no problems.

The angel eye bulbs are a PITA. First off, you need smallish hands or a friend with smallish hands. The one part that I found was a bit different than the vid was that once you try to reinsert the bulb, orient it in the position you removed the OEM bulbs. The driver's side will fall into place around 1-2 o'clock (when standing at the front of the car), and the passenger's side will fall into place around 3 o'clock.

Once they fall into "groves" the vid shows you turn counterclockwise to lock them into place. This is where I had my troubles. It looks like it's a semi-gentle turn. The fogs are semi-gentle and takes no effort at all to lock into place. These ones you really should turn the crap out of them. I had a lot of resistance after turning the bulbs only 10 degrees and I was affraid to really force it. After 2 beers, 90 minutes I decided to give turn it with A LOT OF force.

First of all...friendly bump for even newer e9x owners...

As far as the small hands, I got medium-large hands and it worked fine, but like I said...it is a pain in the ass. As far as the angel ayes...they should lock with the same force that was required to be removed. Yes, u can force them and they will lock, but that doesn't mean they are aligned as they are supposed to be. Remember that the fact that they turn on doesn't mean they are set right. And I don't want to sound like an ass for correcting you, but I am just trying to make things easier to the ones with the same problem/question.

Hi mate, so you used H8 for main and fogs and h3 for side lights?

H3 is for your cornering lights, it is the inner light inside your angel eyes

Thanks for the vid, just installed my GP Thunders.

Got the driver side in 5 minutes, spent 30 minutes bloodying my finger trying the passenger side angel eye with no luck until I found this thread and saw froe's post about 3 o'clock for the passenger side.

Hard to get that one with my large hands but I managed.

Thanks for a great DIY. This took some patience, especially on the left side, but very doable on my '07 E93. One of my OEM bulbs burnt out. Replaced them with the same. Parts Geek was a very good source; The number on the boxes the bulbs came in is 64212 H8 TP. Identical to original; even made in Germany by Osram.

Note: although there are two angel eyes per side, you only need one bulb per side. (I now have an extra set for the next time they burn out!)
