Local Oil change
Im looking for a place in Miami that will change the oil for the e90's. I do not have a jack nor any lifting supplies so I cant do it myself, thats why im willing to pay to take it to a shop, I dont want to go to the dealer cuz I hear they can get really expensive. So if anybody here has taken there cars to a shop, please let me know where and how much.....
Thanks, Carlos

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but why not let the dealer do it under the factory maintenance for free? Is it so they don't see any mods you may have or to be able to do them more often than the factory recommends? Or is it to avoid dings/dents from careless people at the dealer?
I have one coming up soon and want to know if I'm missing anything. I might get on the ScheerOil bandwagon too...

15K? What number oil change is that? My car is scheduling it's second oil change at 7K so so far so good but I guess that answers my question. Thanks.

No, it seems to tell me to do it AT 7K. It actually gives me a check control alert message at start up and since my car has about 6400 miles on it now, I would guess it's to do it at 7K which is coming up and not alerting me to it everytime I start the car if it was 7K away as opposed to just a few hundred miles away.

BMW will not change your oil under warranty unless your ECU is telling you to do so. I bought the BMW oil and oil filter and took it to Midas. They changed it for $11. So the ~$60 for oil and oil filter, then the $11 for oil change, not a bad deal seeing as the dealer will want to charge you $100 or more.

That's why I went to Midas. No oil changing ramps OR oil pan .

One funny thing though, when the car had 4K on it, I drove back from NYC to Miami and then the scheduled oil change went from 8K to 7K so it seems the ECU oil change schedule is dynamic and takes into consideration how you're driving and the actual conditions of the engine and engine oil and not just some set rate.

No, it's not. JOYRIDE said his number went from a positive number to a negative number once he past the mileage his car was telling him so it is very different. Also, again, I don't think the car is going to alert me everytime I start the car if I have seven thousand miles to go. What would be the point? It's telling me because my car has 6,400 miles on it and it's just a few hundred miles away.
Either way, once I pass the 7K and it changes to the negative number it'll be confirmed. When the dealer does'nt charge me it'll be confirmed as well. Now I gotta get me one of those portable canopies and wash this car.
