Custom headlights by Dominators

i finally got around to getting my headlights done by a forum member here named Dominators. I would like to share my experience overall along with some pictures.

He was extremely accommodating of my schedule and worked with me to get things done in a timely manner. He came over to my place and removed the bumper and then the headlights. While doing this he installed a pair of loaner headlights that he had with him so that I would not be left without my car as it is my DD - this IMO is an extremely valuable part, especially for people like me who use their E90 as a DD/have only one car.

Came back the next day and spent almost 8 hours at my place where he started the process of cutting them open very carefully and then took each piece out of the headlight very carefully.

He painted each of the shrouds, housing and the part inside the projectors for the demon eyes. He also installed the clear lenses for me on the projectors. Did all the wiring very carefully to make sure nothing was wired the wrong way.

All this while he was very sure of what he was doing and it was not once where he was like "let me see if this will work" or "lets try this and hope it works".

Then he took then lights home to seal them properly and used Silicone to seal them and then black silicone on top of it to ensure that they are sealed tight. He then put a black tape on top of the sealed area to make sure it doesn't look bad. He even tested them for any leaks prior to installing them and he was confident then no air or water can leak through. I will be putting them to the water test later this week when I get my car washed.

Overall I am extremely satisfied with the results. Everything came out to be just as he had said it would and more importantly just as I had wanted it to be. Definitely reach out to him if you want to get your lights done - I highly recommend his work!!!

Here are some pics from the day of cutting them open to the end product installed on the car. Enjoy (sorry for the dirty car and the daytime cell phone picture quality). They look much better in person!!!

PM him for prices please. I want to respect his work and privacy and let him share that on a public forum if he wishes to.

They look okay. Seeing the caulking/sealing is a huge eye sore to me.

Looks good.

So he cut off the headlight lenses, versus heating the glue and prying them apart? I've read about that being done, but always wondered how you would get the lenses to line back up just right.

Also, details on which "clear" projector lenses he used would be great. Maybe some cutoff pics too?

I supplied him with all the parts and materials. I got the STI clear lenses from TRS.

What you're doing it cutting into the channel between the lens and the headlight housing. You're not cutting any part of the lens. After clean up from the lens and housing everything should fit back together normally. Ask Sam! He cut half a lens too. Did a great job.

Oh ok, I got ya. For some reason I was thinking that people were actually just cutting the lens off!
Guess I have some more research to do... Lol

Wish you were closer to me, I'd have you do my lights too. Doesn't look like there is anyone close to Arkansas though, so I'll most likely be doing mine in my own. I've done projector retrofits on Honda/Acura cars, but that was back in 2004-2005 era. So it's been a while.

Totally doable for you. I feel like angel eye installations are way easier than projector retrofits.

See picture number 3, the one of just the projectors and you will see the area that is painted red. That is what gives the demon eye look.

Unfortunately we did not take any pics while they were being painted.

I am sure he can respond to you if you reach out to him and see how this is done for Pre-LCI's

You didn't send me a PM. All you have to do is paint the cut off shield. Make sure it will still go up and down for high beams though.
