Any cool SA's out there?

I just got back from the dealer regarding a rattling noise. It is most likely due to the infamous actuator/wastegate problem. He suggested new turbos at $6kclearing not doing that. Iv read online that there are some SAs that will figure out at a way to claim a 8yr/82k extended warranty on the parts but that will only happen if the SA is relaxed.

Anyone have recommended SA's out there? I just came back from BMW of Fairfax..not very impressed.

Since you went to FFX, who was your SA? And who was the tech that worked on your car? Read the first thread I posted on who to deal with, and only deal with, at FFX.

I don't think any of them will give you free turbos with aftermarket downpipes. That said, for $6k, you should get RB Turbos and keep the rest of the $$$ in your pocket.

+1. Hopefully your running a tune. If you aren't you are probably running lean as hell which is def not the greatest for the car.

My car is stock, and has a very minor wastegate rattle. I plan on scheduling my car to hopefully get new turbos soon. I will let you know how it goes if you haven't taken your car in by then.

I was planning on removing the aftermarket pipes and put back the OEM ones. Just from reading some threads looks like all the SAs at Arlington/Alexandria are helpful.

so talked to Matt Juliar, he confirmed the extended warranty and encouraged me to reach out to Lazlo (original SA) to get BMWNA to give new turbos.

regarding my aftermarket downpipes. I have taken my car in twice and BMW thought they were bmw pipes probably because they are UR catted pipes. Should I replace them with the OEM ones prior to getting new turbos?

Definitely. You need to make sure that nothing trips you up in getting the turbos covered.

I would avoid BMW of Silver Spring too. They are definitely NOT cool. I'd rather go anywhere else even if it's not convenient.
