Self Oil Change and Spark Plugs

Has anyone attempetd doing this? What about the codes rest?

I'm interested in doing this next weekend the 23rd

Just changed my plugs and there is nothing to reset with them, as for the oil you can reset it yourself and changing it is not that bad to do.

Lot of info on this already so you might need a flame suit on

Check the DIY guides for both. Plugs and oil change both easy to do with a couple "special tools" you will find in the DIY, along with the maintenance reset guides.

I have read the DIY's I was more or less looking for anyone that wanted to do theres as well get up a little meet and spark plug party.

just changed my plugs also, its easy just make sure you have the spark plug socket, i used a 14mm 12pt thin wall socket and sanded the outside wall to make it fit, lol, hopefully someone replies that has to have the same thing done as you in your area so you can

together... have fun.

not a bad DIY.

the green ring on the tip of the oil filter wouldn't come off so I just left it on there... not sure if this was a bad idea or not lol.

Use a little pick to remove it. Technically, gaskets like that one must be replaced.

Hi fellow E90ers,

I was wondering if someone can confirm the correct reference for sparkplugs on an E92.

I just purchased a laser platinum set but I beleive I got the wrong kind:

PLZFR6A-11S

If someone can please confirm that would be great,

I believe those are the plugs for the non-turbo.

Thanks for the reply. I figured out that only bosch makes the sprks for the E92. Jumped the gun to quick on them. Already got a set though ordered today,

I have done both... well the oil a few times. Never had an issue getting the old rings off, but I may have just used a screwdriver or something. It is worth it to just buy the spark plug tool... with the SCCA discount it ends up being like maybe 30-40 bucks. If you are running decent power you will need plugs every 25k miles apparently. Also, it is good to have a "knuckle" to get to the 5th cylinder (I believe it was that one) because the STB is in the way.

Easy stuff to do, just don't jam the new plug down in there because they are easy to damage (some other guy damaged his on here). They are fine threaded so make sure they are started well and screwed most of the way in before getting out the wrench and the torque is pretty light. That BMW socket tool is spring loaded and holds the plugs really well by the way
