There is a forum member in that topic who can give MFactory his 335d differential for as long as they need it. Looks like another LSD option might be coming our way:

Yup, that's me. I am sending Stephen my spare diff this week so MFactory can develop a lsd for our cars. So we should have another option in a few months....and if I am correct it will be a complete drop in package.

Yes, complete drop in (LSD + Final Drive), so no machining etc required

Certainly interesting, though I know your competitor kept the OEM final drive due to its robustness. Can you comment?

By competitor, if you mean Wavetrac, they use the oem final drive because they don't have the in-house capability to make a new ring gear + pinion (infact, they don't have any in-house capability to make any of their LSD's either. For them to get a final drive made, it would cost them far more than the $600-700 they are selling their "install kit" for)

If you mean Quaife, they already have their own final drives available, but are expensive because they can only make "billet" components which is very inefficient.

The reason why we are able to make and offer our products at lower cost is because all of our products are "forged". Initial expenses (i.e tooling) is high, but once that's out of the way, the "per piece" cost is low.

Oh hell Mfactory Im now interested also and to be honest I was one for staying away from this issue, PLEASE send more info so that I can see your product and have it available for my mechanic to view and judge it, he has been in the racing industry here in Puerto Rico and is a well known BMW mechanic in the island. Gracias!!!

Just a heads up guys......Mfactory finally has the diffs for our cars done. Mine is currently on its way

So now we all have another option and the price is better than the competition as far as a ready-to-go diff is concerned. I will try to get Mfactory to chime in here on this.

Yup, it's been a long time coming, but the 335d fitments are finally ready (actually, the LSD has been ready for a while now; we just had to get the machining of the ring gear/spacer sorted)

We have a core in stock for anyone who wants one (first-come-first-served). However, as this isn't a sales thread, I can't post pricing up, so you'll need to view our sales threads in the vendor section, or send me a PM

Options are good

MFactory,

Thanks for bringing this to us. I hate traction control!!! So to be clear, you don't even bother cutting the OEM ring gear off of the stock diff from the customer? You just install your own forged/machined ring gear onto your LSD and install it into the customers "pumpkin"? Am I correct to assume you've beat the crap out of both your crown gears and LSD's during development. I plan on keeping this car for 15+ more years. Do your diff units allow the use of OEM differential lubricant and what is your recommended service interval?

Thanks again. As you are only an hour up the road, convenient drop off and pick up is a big plus vs shipping across the country.

Cheers,

J

We decided not to make the 2.81 Ring & Pinions yet, as we need to make a large quantity of them but there hasn't been (so far) a large enough market to justify this. At the moment, we only made the 3.08 and 2.56 Ring & Pinions.

For the 335d, we have to machine the oem cores like everyone else. For the LSD, we have no doubt they can hold up to any abuse you can throw at them.

No special fluid is required for a Helical LSD; just the oem recommended fluid and service interval.

We have the designs all ready for them, but want to see how the DCT R&P's go first as we are in a similar situation (over 30+ interested, but only 5 from the list actually handed over money when they were ready). With the 3.08's, those aren't an issue.

Besides, for the time being, we do have machined oem R&P's in stock.

ya man, but the hassle involved in shipping cores back and forth is lot. (Shipping fee + Downtime). It would be so convenient if we can have a full drop in LSD.

No downtime. This is a full drop-in LSD. You buy one ready to go and send yours back after the installation. Not sure what other options there are....
