New Hampshire DB = first ding

My car is only a few months old....spotless.

We where eating lunch and I parked to the left of the parking space next to a handicapped spot. Not parking like an idiot...just cautious.

I see a car full of guys pull in to the handicap spot and the front passenger opens the car door slow..no issue. Person is back flings the door open and I see it bounce off my car.

I get up and go out....door ding. The guys says...sorry, you should have not parked so close to the line.

I said you should have not parked in the handicap spot.

They all pile back in, driver says I don't have insurance...good luck.

I took a cleaner wax to try to get the paint transfer off.

It looks better, there seems to be scuffs in the clear and a very small dent in lower spot.

I know PDR should be able to to the small dent if it bothers me once the scuffs are gone.

What is the best way to address the scuffs in the clear.

Start

Clearer wax and then hand buff

Where it is on the door

That sucks. As a rule of thumb I never park next to handicap spots. Much of the time it's old people who park crazy crooked or jackasses (like your case) who park there because they think no rules apply to them, either way I avoid it.

The driver didn't have insurance? I hope you called the cops at that point.

Sucked that's why I don't park near handicap spot either. Can't it's NH you don't need car insurance in that state.

I agree...It was the only spot available.

I wish, they drove off.

In NH, you are not required to have insurance. In MA, you have a non-insured part of the policy. But with a $500 deductible it is not worth dealing with insurance for something this small.

Man that sucks.....Asshats.

I had the same thing happen in my last car (Jet Black = PIA). I tried polish, and while it brought the color back, you could still see some pretty deep scratches. So I had to resort to wetsanding....you just gotta be very very very careful with that body crease not to sand too much on the ridge.
Take your time and go slow - it'll turn out !

I would take it to the BMW dealer if they have a body shop attached and see what they would charge...instead of risking sanding and buffing right down to bare metal then it definitely needs repainted believe me I've seen it I work as a collision repair tech for bmw

Ignore anyone telling you to wet sand, if you haven't done it before doing it on an edge is not the place to learn. Find a good detailer in your area and take it to them. For a small spot like that it won't cost you that much and it will get done right.

If you assault the first friend with enough ferocity, the others won't even come at you.

I went to a PDR guy and he did his voodoo and a tiny bit of wet sanding.....after I did a polish and wax there is only a small chip left.

Unless I get really close I cannot see it. I am much happier now.

Same here, park in a secluded area, you will usually come back out to the parking lot to see another shiny sports car or two parked close by.

At work I do the same and now all the other BMW's in the building now park near by. I asked the office manager if we could turn that area into the BMW section and then she started parking her hyundai next to us in protest.

This backfired as she has noticed how crappy her car looks in comparison and said she will be getting some advice when it's time to get a new car.

I feel your pain man. Last time something like that happened to me was with my old car in a best buy parking lot. Good thing there was a shopping cart near by because i threw it through the guys windshield.. hopefully if there is ever a next time, there will be a shopping cart near you too.
