Help ! Hard time from dealer

Brought my car in for the wastegate rattle(turbo replacement) and apparently since my car has dinan they can't honor the extended warranty. They sold me the car that way so what should I do or say?

Dinan and BMW have split up I heard in certain dealerships, but I bought my car from the same BMW dealership that is telling me this. If that's the case why would they sell me a car like that. It can't get any recalls or extended warranties so why sell me a vehicle like that.

The warranty tab should be picked up by DINAN. BmwNa will not authorize the dealer to fix it.

What year is the car? Is it still covered under the original warranty?

You need to read the fine print in your contract. There is probably a clause that BMW NA does not cover repair and replacement costs related to non-BMW parts installed on your vehicle, and probably will not cover any parts thatmight be damaged due to installation of after-market components. Did you ask this question when you were purchasing it or just assumed that is covered?

Call BMW customer service. DINAN was the ONLY approved aftermarket performance company BMW would honor. Things may have changed and you may get some schlub on the phone at customer service who doesnt even know what DINAN is.

Cant imagine you cant get this resolved without too much trouble....Try Habberstad, they are a DINAN dealer, maybe they can guide or assist you

I asked plenty of questions when I was buying the car. I asked who owned the car before male or female they told me female. That was a lie it was a male. Asked if the car was ever tuned they said no, another lie! They also sold me the car with a damaged bolt that goes through my exhaust hanger to my rear end/frame and long story short I but the bullet didn't sue and payed for it to get fixed out of pocket but I've had enough they need to fix my turbos its not my fault they sold me a not stock unsafe car. I never signed anything saying I wanted that on my car I don't even like flash tunes.

Wow. Sux. What they told you verbally, and what is in the contract are probably not the same. If you bought it used, there's probably as-is, where-is language right above where you signed your name. I am hearing more and more of these Dinan warranty issues, where the company is trading on a perceived warranty that vaporizes at the dealerships when there's a problem. I'm curious whether Dinan bits are being sold at the dealership as 'covered under warranty', or whether their customers are just assuming that they are covered because of Dinan's erstwhile relationship with BMW (which clearly no longer exists).

yeah, you would have to call dinan or BMW NA. Open up a puma case (bmw takes these somewhat seriously) If everything checks out you should have new turbos!
