With LCIs, I have found that the LED light shines through perfectly fine with Gunsmoke Lamin-X, and they look nice and aggressive when the lamps are not lit.

You can go on dipyourcar.com and they have a plasti dip tint that you can use to tint your tail light as dark or light as you want it and if you get tired of it or if its to dark you can just peal it off and do it again lighter

The LCI tail lights are awesome the way they are which is why pre LCI owners are converting. Leave them alone as it will cost you a lot if you mess them up.
