Another blown tire

:
I have the BMW sports performance 269 rims 19" and this is like my fourth or fifth blow out. It's so expensive to replace these tires and very inconvenient to have the car towed back and fourth everywhere. Blah! Anyone else have to go through this? It never helps to not have a spare tire. At least we were safe and nothing really happened but it's so inconvenient in the sense that most tire shops have to order the tires when it comes to my rear tires. Originally I had 255/30/19 had to widen the back because of size availability. I'm at 265 now because they are more of an a ail able size. Thoughts?

my girlfriend had an 09 e93 with 19in, only owned it for a few months and in that time had two blown tires which we drove on for about a mile or 2 before they completely shred off the rim, she got rid of the car but for other reasons, mine is the 2011 e93 with 17s and no problem, wish i knew how to help, but i understand your problem!

Best bet is to get a set of get flat tires. They seem to be more resistant to blow outs.

I just ordered a spare tire kit today from Bav Auto. Mainly because I am old enough to feel it is completely ridiculous to not have a spare and secondly because the one time I had a flat, it was a pain in the ass. I had it patched easily enough but if I had needed to replace the tire no one carries them locally except the dealer and it was on a Saturday night. So I would have it towed to a dealer, pay the ridiculous dealer fees and skip work on Monday just to get it taken care of.

Anyway, are you hitting a ton of potholes? You could switch to 17s to get some more sidewall on the tires. You could also get a spare or mobility kit and ditch the run flats. You may still have blowouts on the 19s with really bad roads, but at least you can get the tires cheaper and much easier locally.

Little skeptical myself. I find it hard to beleive there isn't a tire iron or a spare in the trunk.

Here's to hoping BMW knows what they're talking about with flat tires and it doesn't blow up and I end up stranded on America's lonliest highway...

I actually got rid of the RFTs a while back that is when I had excessive problems with the tires on a consistent basis. I am on the Goodyear F1 Assymetrics which seem to be pretty good. I think this time's blow out was due to my lack of maintenance with air check ups. So ... overall just frustrated when this happens I am actually waiting for the tow truck to tow my car to America's tire co to get a fresh set of tires on the back. My wallet is about to get raped a good 7 bills. Hopefully they prorate the tires because I do have warranty and the tread is still pretty good (fingers crossed).

My next ones will be Michelin Pilot Sport IIs, although I'm always at risk with these 19s...
Got Yokohama S Drive summer V rated on my car now, love em! I'm kinda wearin through em a bit with my occasional light ups around corners and such (something I could never do in my 2009 328xi coupe AT )
