It looks good, but $1k for a diffuser is pretty ridiculous, you should have gone and spent that on the coilovers as opposed to the springs/shocks you got. When you put the OEM back on, are you going to cut out/modify the area where the exhaust goes? I don't think your 4 inch tips will fit.

Just curious - if people that bought them last summer have had any issues?
Got a present from my car yesterday...
It's been shuddering at idle for about a week now. Unfortunately, its common with the n54 motor and the dealer will do nothing without an error light / thrown code. Luckily one finally popped up.
I'll scan the car and check what the code is tonite.

They do fit the oem. I bought same ones and should have them installed next week. The guy at the shop told me it should be a perfect fit

Did you ever take your car in for the "recall" whether it was actually a dct, or software, or hpfp recall? I'm not discounting the potential for this light to pop up on my dashboard. I'm going to be annoyed though when it does because it will be a severe waste of time.

IS there a newer recall that applies to our car? I sure would like a DCT update. It needs a little adjusting.
The last update the car got was at the port in December.

I have a speculation as to what the error is for, but I'll wait till I see the code tonite.

Edit: Severe waste of time is an understatement. I went through this with my last 335. It takes a lot for the dealer to actually replace parts. The code has to be reoccurring before they have the go ahead from BMWNA to do any repairs. I have an appointment next week, so we'll see how it goes.

yea I got a "recall" notification from the dealer. They kept telling me it was a software update and then another SA told me it eases up on the pressure on the pump when you are starting the car or idling or whatever. I don't know who to believe. What I do know is that the update they did for my car affected my idrive interface. Phone interface is worse now but the voice directions on nav is improved because now it does not lower music volume drastically whenever the bitch talks. In fact, music volume stays constant and the womans voice is at the perfect level to hear even if the music stays on. I used to mute her and miss my turns all the time.
I cannot tell if the DCT programming was affected. I felt like it was after I got the car back, but now it all feels normal.

If that is the case, I should highly think of some. Where can I get Black or Chrome Black tips? Maybe 3 1/2 inches, 4" is too big right?

When was this? It sounds like the revised software that's been out for a bit. You probably hear the buzz of the fuel pump priming when you unlock your car now?

software update "recall" was done maybe a month ago. Had my car since June 2010. yes, I do hear the faint humming sound right after I unlock. Then it stops after about 3-4 seconds or something. Is that normal? I thought even E46 M3s did that back in the day.

Yup, that's the one my car already has. That update came out around july/aug '10. As I understand, it primes the fuel pump prior to starting. Makes sense and has seemed to help.
I don't think my current issue is fuel pump related. I only had 2 replaced on my last car and it was fine after the update. I had issues with coil's, injector(s) and plugs.

That's weird. My car was probably built in May 2010 and I am pretty certain it always primed the fuel pump prior to me starting the car. I believe the car will also prime the pump if the car is unlocked overnight and you open the door in the morning to get in.

ooooh. So if yours has been that way, something has been revised again. We'll see if I get an update.
