Newest Radios (Non-Idrive Pre LCI)
So, The newest Non-Idrive Professional Radios seem to have the following items listed on them
1 - Sirius 2 - Bluetooth 3 - Combox (USB) Part number for the unit : 65123456875 (getbmwparts has them) So the question is can any of the Non-Idrive e9X cars install this particular radio unit (along with bluetooth mic/antenna, the sirius antenna and the usb cord/connector) to get all of the above functions (sirius will need to be activated ofcourse) OR is there additional programming required? Again, the RADIO has the three items listed above mentioned/labeled ON the LABEL with the part number. Any experts please chime in as I think this could possibly be the best 1 stop shop for the above functionality Thanks |

Wow. How have I missed this option?
Obviously no professional HU have A2DP, but does this at least have the proper circuitry for digital audio transfer from iPhone? In other words will it accept the oem white apple cable? I just got rid of the iPhone 5 due to lack of audio output options to my car. |

How do you intstall the options ?
How do you intstall the options ?
If you have an older car you may have bluetooth already for example. Does this require VO changes or single line programming changes. This still doesn't seem clear. Also I sent this guy and email asking if it had HD Radio and he seemed to indicate he had decks that had those. How would you set it up for Hi Fi and already installed bluetooth and add USB for example. At this price (ebay)it would be cheaper than any of the aftermarket USB add on options. |

- Sirius will require FSC ($350 or less by BimmerTech)
- HD Radio is standard after MY2010 - BT only requires microphone (antenna built-in) - Coding required - Although it says Combox in the label it seems to me that what it is inside is a MULF chip for USB. Meaning, no audio thru USB and only via AUX for iPod/iPhone, requiring the OEM iPod cable. - This is the new Professional HU, which also is installed in the F30 as standard equipment in its iDrive version. The F30 also requires the OEM iPod cable. Only the Combox uses the Apple iPod cable. Last edited by Technic; 10-05-2012 at 04:17 PM.. |

At least the fact that it is in use by F30 means a newer Y cable will come out.
I had been ready to click buy on this, as an interim solution while awaiting the NBT iDrive..but perhaps I will stick with my current ghetto-rig instead of subbing for a new one. |

Considering that no Sirius external tuners ($400+), no HD Radio external tuners ($350) are available anymore except used and a MULF retrofit for Bluetooth/USB is extensive and expensive ($300+), a Professional HU will all of those features built-in for $300 is just insane. |

So can you stick in a USB stick or not?
So can you stick in a USB stick or not?
Since you indicated that Ipod or Iphone had to be used through aux and I guess no USB as in using a USB stick for digital music the same way that a usb factory installed setup would work. Also would the same codes enable the features or would you need a updated daten file to make this play? |

This radio works exactly as the MULF USB, so USB sticks should work as well. The iPod/iPhone require the OEM iPod cable. Clarified statement above. |

I agree...its a GREAT deal and I would have jumped...may do so if I hear chatter of the new cable release. My ultimate goal is the NBT iDrive though. |
