Just installed LUX angel eyes, literally cried
Lmao I feel sorry for anyone who was watching me. The left side slid in like butter, but I kept turning and turning and turning the right side however it would not go in. LITERALLY an hour later, with blood running down my arm (I kid you not my hand was FUCKED up) I got it to go in. They look nice, but man oh man was the painful.

I got lucky on my passenger side and got it in within 5 minutes... but gave up after 30 minutes on my driver's side and had my girlfriend come out and put the fucking bulb in

LOL....you should change the oil on certain GM vehicles, you have to remove the oil filter by hand because no tool can get in there. If you have arthritis you're out of luck. If you have a normal wrist, it may be broken by the time you're done due to the angle....

Haha I remember installing the alpine angels on my last two cars. Fucked my hand up too. Why do they make it so damn hard?!

It is amazing how hard I can be to get those in there! Of course, so many aftermarket bulbs have no tab along the back of the bulb to give you something to push against so it makes it even more difficult than normal!

It took me about 3 hours to get this done. I didn't mess my hand up because I aligned the LUX H8 V3 up by marking the top of the tabs using my old H8 with a Sharpie. Once I did that I used a tie wrap around the base of the H8 so I could use a needle nose pliers to rotate it and my plastic door panel tool pushing forward to keep pressure on the H8 so it would engage with the tabs.
Clearly if you have someone with very small hands they can do this but normal and above requires an alternative plan. Yes took a long time and most of that was getting the tabs all aligned at once not just engaging one or two taps. That is what took all the time... |

not to change the subject, new lights are awesome....
It feels so retarded to be unable to do simple jobs on some cars, because there's no room in the engine bay. No joke, some cars have to have the entire transaxle removed just to do the water pump, etc. It's so amazing to see vehicles where there is actually no access from below, i.e. a lift does not help....then very little access from above as well.... |

I had BMW service install mine. they asked the technician with the smallest hands to help and he had it done in literally ~20min. they charged me for 15min of time and we called it a day. all good. something others may want to consider as well.

Did you remove the tires and the inner wheel well?
That's the "easy" way......that was the way I had to do mine. |
