Urgent Audio help; Need more help guys
hey guys, I've decided to upgrade my speakers for my e90 lci with base audio. Ive purchased a set off mb quart speakers and harness from a fellow member, which would allow me to to amp the front speakers.
Ive just spent good 2-3 hours wiring everything and making it look neat. However when i turn on the car there is a static noise in the background? Ive just the cables but they seem fine. Is there anything I'm missing? The set up I've got is basically the harness between the radio and the oem connection. Ive fed the cable through to my boot, where I've connected to an amp. any help would be appreciated, i don't mind paying someone to have a look at it around essex or london. thanks in advance Last edited by yaagavan; 12-30-2015 at 03:30 PM.. |

I had a similar problem, no sound from woofer amp (which an audio shop had installed and I installed the woofers).
After installing my woofers, the was no sound, so had to go back to the shop, and at first they tried to blame me for shorting the amp . They earthed the amp directly to the battery, and it solved the problem. |

At first, they ground the earth of the amp to a body panel in the boot (can't remember where exactly). When they took the earth directly to the battery, all was ok. Thing is, the amp seemed to be working, and the overload light on the amp was coming on, so seemed like a faulty amp. Hopefully this is your issue. Last edited by Rialas; 11-27-2015 at 04:09 PM.. |

thanks for everyones help so far, the speakers are now working perfectly fine my next question would be about upgrading the underseat subs. Im looking up the mb quart ones again, whats everyones opinion on these?
also reading through several posts I've noticed that i would be needing a "jumper cable"? am i correct to say that this will allow me to run the subs independently to the speakers while amping it? also this might be a long shot, however is there anyone around essex or london who can code my radio to hifi? thanks in advance |
