Help...

This morning on my way to work the car was making a whistling noise as I drove. By the time I got to work (10 min drive) the noise got louder. Eventually the car started shaking a little as the rpms went up and down. No lights came up and it was doing this with the ac on or off. I turned off the car for a few minutes and then started driving again and no symptom was present. Weird. About two weeks ago the service engine soon came up but it went away. I'm not sure if that is related or not. The dealership is closed till Monday and the Indy I trust are closed over the weekend also. I guess I have to wait to make an appt but I have some things to do over the weekend and I'm not sure if I should drive the car or not. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks!

Okk so the problem came back. The car has been shaking, rpm jumping when still and the weird whistling noise. It hasn't triggered an error light. Although last week it turned off while driving and the service engine soon light came on but then I turned it on again and everything was ok. I took it to the dealer today, hopefully they can figure it out without a huge bill!

The dealer hasn't been able to replicate any problems. But told me it might be the crankcase valve that's integrated in the vavle cover. Something like that, and maybe the coils. So I guess I have to wait until it completely messed up.

Hi, I recently began experiencing similar symptoms, perhaps not as severe. Not seeing any codes yet. No jumps in rpm either. Today my car runs fantastic, no indication of a past problem whatsoever, but I expect the issue to come back.

In addition to what was suggested to you here, there are replies to my post that lean towards what your dealer is thinking.
Thanks for suggestions made here and any others in the future.
