If the 2009 and below 335i's can get to 4.9 seconds then this model can do 4.7 easy of not more. I would not be shocked.

C&D destroyed BMW proclaimed 0-60 for present e92 335i. So I would not shocked one bit if this thing goes faster. Cant wait

I won't swear on it, but if history repeats then that is the expected date. There are rumors of an accelerated timeline for the F3x, but I don't think those are based on anything concrete.

With the extra coolers and what not will this car be easy to mod? I think the beefed up engine means a chip will easly push the car above 420hp?

It's the turbos that are becoming the bottleneck around 400 HP. At least that's what I hear.

3 Series Sedan
The 2011 BMW 3 Series Sedan goes on sale this spring, and each model features changes worthy of mention. Headlining the news is BMW’s all-new 300hp inline-6 engine for the 335i Sedan. BMW’s enthusiast-celebrated 6-speed manual transmission remains standard, and the 6-speed STEPTRONIC automatic transmission remains optional for $1,375. New shift paddles (left-shift down, right-shift up) for the STEPTRONIC may be added to the Sport steering wheel for $100 when the $2,150 Sport Package is ordered.

For the first time since its introduction, the BMW 335d Sedan is now available with the
M Sport Package for $3,750. On all 3 Series models, the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System replaces BMW’s HiFi Professional System.

The 328i Sedan and 335i Sedan start at $34,025 and $41,475, respectively, including $875 Destination & Handling. The 328i xDrive Sedan and 335i xDrive Sedan start at $36,025 and $43,475, respectively, including Destination & Handling. The 335d Sedan featuring BMW Advanced Diesel technology with BluePerformance starts at $44,825, including the 6-speed automatic transmission and Destination & Handling.

3 Series Sports Wagon
The 2011 3 Series Sports Wagon goes on sale this spring with an MSRP of $36,575 for the 328i Sports Wagon, and $38,575 for the 328i xDrive (all-wheel drive) Sports Wagon. New for MY2011 is the $2,350 Convenience Package, which includes Alarm System, Comfort Access, ultrasonic Park Distance Control, and BMW’s Xenon adaptive headlights. On all
3 Series models, the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System replaces BMW’s HiFi Professional System. Also for 2011, Vermillion Red exterior paint replaces Barbera Red, and Deep Sea Blue replaces Monaco Blue metallic exterior paint.

3 Series Coupe
BMW has substantially updated the 3 Series Coupe for model year 2011. Headlining the changes are new headlights and tail lights, a new hood and kidney grille, new side skirts, new wheels, and new front and rear fascias. Under the skin, the 335i Coupe has been fitted with the new “N55” twin scroll turbocharged inline-6 engine, and may be coupled to the standard 6-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the new Vermillion Red and Deep Sea Blue exterior colors, Mineral White Metallic exterior paint will be available on the Coupe starting in June. On all 3 Series models, the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System replaces BMW’s HiFi Professional System. Also, as part of the update, BMW has made new Bamboo Anthracite Wood trim available on the interior.

Perhaps the biggest news for enthusiast coupe drivers is the arrival of the BMW 335is Coupe. This high-performance model features BMW’s award-winning twin-turbocharged inline-6 (N54), with output of 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. A special overboost function permits a temporary torque increase to 370 lb-ft. Cooling the extra heat generated by the increased power is a standard oil cooler and an extra water cooler (radiator), as well as the enormous front air ducts included with the standard M Sport upgrades. An emotionally charged sport exhaust system has been fitted to perfectly capture the serious driving intentions of the 335is. Black kidney grilles, mirror caps, and Shadowline exterior trim lead the eyes to the rear where a rear diffuser with a body-color and black insert is located. Inside, the 335is Coupe receives a full M Sport enhancement with unique trim and badges. Those enthusiasts who prefer not to have it will appreciate the ability to delete the standard glass moonroof. For the first time on the 3 Series (excluding M3) the Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) will be available on the 335is as a $1,575 option.

The 328i Coupe and 335i Coupe start at $37,075 and $43,525, respectively, including $875 Destination & Handling. The all-wheel drive models 328i xDrive Coupe and 335i xDrive Coupe start at $38,975 and $45,425 respectively. The high-performance 335is Coupe will go on sale in June at an MSRP of $50,525.

3 Series Convertible
Like the 3 Series Coupe, BMW has substantially updated the 3 Series Convertible for model year 2011. Headlining the changes are new headlights and tail lights, a new hood and kidney grille, new side skirts, new wheels, and new front and rear fascias. Under the skin, the 335i Convertible has been fitted with the new “N55” twin-scroll turbocharged inline-6 engine, and may be coupled to the standard 6-speed manual or optional 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the new Vermillion Red and Deep Sea Blue exterior colors, Mineral White Metallic exterior paint will be available on the Convertible starting in June. On all 3 Series models, the optional Harman Kardon Surround Sound System replaces BMW’s HiFi Professional System. Also, as part of the update, BMW has made new Bamboo Anthracite Wood trim available on the interior.

Convertible drivers with a love for dynamic performance will be excited to learn of the new BMW 335is Convertible. This high-performance model features BMW’s award-winning twin-turbocharged inline-6 (N54), with output of 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. A special overboost function permits a temporary torque increase to 370 lb-ft. Cooling the extra heat generated by the increased power is a standard oil cooler and an extra water cooler (radiator), as well as front air ducts included with the standard M Sport upgrades. Sport suspension and a sport exhaust system have been fitted to properly enhance the driving experience. Black kidney grilles, mirror caps, and Shadowline exterior trim lead the eyes to the rear where a rear diffuser with a body-color and black insert is located. Inside, the 335is Convertible receives a full M Sport enhancement with unique trim and badges. For the first time on the 3 Series (excluding M3) the Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) will be available on the 335is as a $1,575 option.

The 328i Convertible and 335i Convertible start at $45,875 and $52,075, respectively, including $875 Destination & Handling. The 335is Convertible goes on sale in April and will start at $59,075 including Destination & Handling.

After soaking in all the reviews and the available technical details, I think the iS is the best enthusiast bimmer short of an M offered in the USA/CDN market in the past 30 years. Arguably one of the best high performance daily drivers ever. My only complaints are no LSD and a price tag over 50k. That, and no E90iS for the moment, which, with three kids, is a deal breaker for me. Still, via EuroDelivery and shrewd bargaining, an E92iS could be had with DCT and HK stereo for <49k including your air ticket. This is huge, in terms of BMW being willing to address the enthusiast. I am really, really happy with this development.

If the BMW Perf engine tune kit is upgraded to this level (i.e., includes the 370 ft lbs. over boost), I am all over it.

335iS Coupe suspension ??

Looking through the Order Guide just posted:
So - no "Sport Package" - and no "M Sport Package" shown for the 335iS Coupe.
Does that mean the M Sport suspension is 'standard' on the 335iS Coupe?
A couple of reviews said that the Sport suspension was standard....?
Thanks,
- Ray

The cars at Estoril had the M-sport suspension, and all reports are that the iS will have that suspension set-up. Some confusion ensues because BMW does not delineate between the two in some instances, and the Euro spec cars sometimes have had a different labeling scheme than USA cars.

Well - not all reports:
"The suspension brings no surprises either, unless you are surprised by the fact that it is unchanged from the sport suspension setup for the standard 3 Series." -
Edmunds Inside Line

Apparently, they are confused...
Thanks!

"Being holistic sorts, BMW has also firmed up the springy bits underneath to help deal with the 335i's added aggression. An off-the-rack M-suspension pack drops the ride height by 10 millimeters and stiffer shocks and springs have been substituted, all particularly welcome changes in light of the fact that we had only ever driven on the circuit once before – and that was the previous afternoon."

The confusion originates from "sport" becoming standard on the E92, and then getting the M-sport spec spring and dampers.

In my recent experience, it is almost impossible to sort out what is what short of looking at the tags on the springs. There is a lot of fine-tuning going on, with Steptronic equipped cars having different springs than manual tranny ones etc.

Bottom line here is you can be assured that the iS will have the tightest suspension available. You don't need to select (or pay extra) suspension.

I don't think the votes are in on this yet. What do you expect current owners with piggys to say?

Who among us would not have jumped at this iS option when we first bought our 335s? 370 ft lbs. stock? All the Euro M-sport goodies and more? Extra cooling? New HPFP (fingers crossed that this one is bullet-proof)? DCT? Awesome exhaust?

I really wanna give this engine a try. As much as love the N54 powerplant, it lost some of the that BMW's surgical precision you get with their NA offerings. I could never get my right foot to do he right thing when the car is driven at its very limit, the onset of the boost seems to upset the car a bit.

I'm curious to know if the sunroof delete option will be avialble, it'd be nice if they took it a little extreme and offered an a/c delete to, lol-

It's nice to see some support for the 335iS in this thread now..
