Does Zaino correct swirls, or paint imperfections or just covers it like a make up?

Im looking in to buying a zaino kit, but don't know if it will correct the swirls on the paoint and scratches, as in taking them off completely. Or does it just covers it like makeup. Because I've ready that zaino is applied by hand.

z-5 has some fillers

the polish doesn't cut much, but yes, it will remove very light swirls. better used as a finishing polish though

No, you will need to machine polish with something like Menzerna SIP to remove swirls. The Zaino z5/z2 is really a top coat for a well prepped surface.

This. Z5 says it will hide swirls but it will only hide very minor ones. Zaino sealants looks best when the paint is prepped with a good polish prior to application.

It is a sealant, not an abrasive polish. Only abrasive polishes remove scratches. Waxes do a better job hiding swirls, but don't remove them either. Zaino ZPC (which is available in a couple of the Zaino kits) is a polish and will remove light scratches. If you have heavier scratches (most people do), you'll need a better polish to prep the surface of the paint for the LSP (Last Step Product). To remove scratches in any quantity you'll also need a machine (Random Orbital or Rotary) to apply/work the polish.

The Detailing 101 thread answers a lot of these questions:

I agree with the previous comments. The only product marketed by Zaino to remove swirls and scratches is their ZPC polish and in my experience it's not very aggressive at all. Z2, Z5 and ZCS are sealants and are meant to seal in the efforts of buffing and polishing to remove the paint imperfections first. Zaino also touts Z5 as having some minor "filling" properties but quite honestly I've never experienced that result with it.

I agree with many who have criticized the "labeling" of Zaino sealants as "polishes". Z2Pro and Z5Pro Show Car Polishes are sealants and LSP's only. They are not abrasive or cutting/buffing polishes as we traditionally think of that word. Again, the only Zaino product meant for light cutting is ZPC Fusion and like others, my experience is it is a very light cut polish at best.

It doesn't actually remove swirls. It will help mollify their appearance to a small extent.

Z2 doesn't. Its a pure sealer.

Z5 is supposed to fill some mild imperfections.

zaino = all hype!

anything non-abrasive will do ZERO imperfection removal (swirls and scratches) and if it does, you can be sure its just filling

anything with abrasives will instill marring (clay, compounds more so, mid-level polishes less, and fine polishes less - then you combine with pads to get the right cut/finish). Once you get a fine grade polish, and a fine grade pad - like 85rd and a blue or red pad - with next to zero cut it wont cut the paint, but it will refine it!!
