So I bought extended warranty

Car currently at 75000KM and warranty expired last week.

I bought the two years and up to 120K warranty ultimate coverage, $100 deductible for $2800 tax in.

Original price was $3050 + tax. You can negotiate up to $500 in discount, anything higher than that, they won't keep you when you say you're going to another dealer. I tried three dealers and no one kept me when I offered $600 discount.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I do have a question: why? Personally, an extended warranty is not worth it, but I guess it provided peace of mind to some people.

I have many things fixed by the factory warranty which could have cost me a fortune. The extended warranty although not as good as the factory warranty, will provide peace of mind in the event of a breakdown. Transmission is something that worries me. Since I have a 328, I don't have Turbos, but for 335 drivers, turbos are really expensive to replace.

What warranty provider and coverage did you end up going with? Which dealer?

I would like to know which dealer?

As I will be looking into the extended warranty myself.

I bought it at Town & Country BMW from Shelly Clarke and found she had the best prices. *I went to BMW Toronto and Autohaus but I found Shelly was the only one that really wanted my business. *The other dealers seemed like they were not very interested in giving discounts. *It is the CovergaeOne Ultimate which gives me additional two years or up to 120K KM.

I'm speaking to Shelly also. The prices seem pretty reasonable. I'll be signing with her for sure. I have under 60K so my quote for 3 yrs was under $2K.
BTW-do you have any mods and do they inspect your car prior to signing you on?

They don't even look at your vehicle. If you have mods, then the only problem will be when you are actually filing a warranty claim. Then they would evaluate and determine if your mod has anything to do with it?

Thanks, I'm thinking of going that route too. Transmission problems can be really expensive. Not too worried about the turbos since we have a 10 yr warranty on the HPFP and if anything, that's the issue with the turbo.

Sguan,

Why do you say the extended warranty is not as good as the factory warranty? I was under the impression that the extended warranty extends the factory bumper to bumper warranty. The Certified Pre-owned warranty is the one that has the limited warranty. Essentially everything that is no considered to be wear and tear.

From what I have read, the issue with the turbos for 335i was for the 2007 and 2008 years.

Hi guys.
i'm looking to purchase the extended warranty as well, so far i'm offered a maximum of $250 discount from dealership(T & C). Any input or reference would help.

Also, if you purchased the extended warranty from town & country BMW, do they submit the claim for you?

Thanks.

I'm thinking of passing on extended warranty on my 2008 328xi.

I bought it used in April. The service history from 2008-2011 was clean clean clean!!! So when the warranty expires in December, IF something goes wrong, I'll fix it and sell the car.
