N55 Completely Stock With Vishnu Downpipe Dyno

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to give you guys an update on my Vishnu Down pipe! Install was a bit of a struggle as getting the V-clamps on was difficult but once I got it all aligned it was a snap.

Once installed I fired it up and with my stock exhaust The car sounded amazing! anice deep throaty tone with no resonating inside the cabin. Took it for a drive and could def feel something on the butt dyno but of course it might have been the placebo effect . luckily enough I had a dyno scheduled the next day.

Here are the numbers.

I was really amazed on how much power it made. whats even more interesting is the guy operating the dyno said I could of made even more power if mine was a Manual transmission or DCT apparently the automatic when he was dynoing would kick down too many gears which made things a bit more difficult

Def excited with the car and the Vishnu Downpipe cant wait to save my pennies and get a PROcede.

yeah buddy... 50whp gains at ~6200rpm. Looks like the design works

Could you email shiv (shiv@vishnutuning.com) the .drf files? We'd love to get a bone stock to bone stock+dp result for our website.

Your dyno operator didn't know how to properly operate the car. That is why he was having issues. There is a kick down "button" on the gas pedal. You can easily feel it when you depress the gas pedal all the way, at the very end you will feel a slight click as the button is depressed. I have read you can tape it down to prevent the dyno operator from messing up your results by not know how to properly dyno the car. Great results none the less though!

Vishnu Designed Downpipe

Wooooooowwwwww Simply WOOOOOOOOW. That power output with just downpipe is amazing. I can say that Vishnu definitely know what they are doing. Only wish if they started making parts for our BMW market earlier. I believe n54 guys would love to run Vishnu downpipe if they had one knowing how much R&D and time they spent on developing a quality and functional products.

I have had used two other tunes before on my n54 and i couldn't be happier with the Procede.

Vishnu FTW and keep up the good work.

I didn't know the N55 could run like that up top. It must be nice to have a turbo 3 series that doesn't fall flat on its face

Damn that is down right impressive. Amazing that just bolting this one part on you see that much of a gain. I will be ordering one of these in no time. I simply cannot resist.

I'm suspicious of those dynos. The two runs are not the same tune. If they were the stock dp would be a huge restriction on the stock tune which it isnt. I'm suspicious of the peak differences as well for the same reasons.

+1 Shivs tuned and bolted n55 doesnt even hold 300 whp at redline, hell he barely does it at 6.5k in a all out effort

On the dyno we used, our 135 stock baselined approx 10whp lower than the OP's. So comparing nominal numbers taken from different dynos is probably a bad idea.

But if we must compare, you can peek at this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=505867

Even running the stock tune (with downpipe, cat-back and chargepipe), the car put down over 300whp at 6500rpm. No top end roll off at all. That's from the downpipe.

So his 135 doesnt even break 270 bone stock on your dyno?
On the dp dyno he reved it out to almos 130, which is the end of 4th gear, 7k. How is he holding that much power with no tune?

No, it's probably closer to 6400-6500rpm. And his numbers are ricer math compatible with ours given differences in baseline and additional mods our car his.
