They certainly are a nice to place to sit and I still look forward to driving mine to work etc. You may get a few more MPG than me tho!

Same powerplant/box as the 35D Del,from what I understand.
So those figures could be improved somewhat, and of course the real benefit of some ECU tweaking is the increase in MPG. Increase in BHP/torque is just an unfortunate consequence

I was to understand it's the same as the 335d Ian. Do the remaps really improve MPG?

Simon @Emaps.
Simon did my previous 2 E92's,the results spoke for themselves, and no-one without exception has a better reputation. My last E92 ran 363BHP (straight through exhaust) and 500+ lbs/ft

Just watch your warranty if you do remap it.
BMW are checking as my friend who knows the techy has his throw a warranty exception due to his remap. (regardless if it's on or off) |

He showed me the print out and it was the same as other people on here have had. It's not so much the dealer checking more BMW Germany, as soon as the car is plugged into the diag machine it has some way to check. Someone else created a thread on this a while back with the same problem.
It's worse for people that didn't know there was a remap on the car, they put it into the dealer to find out parts of your warranty are void. As I say he knows the guy at the dealer, it's a friend from school. He warned him about it before he had it done as there had been a number of cars flagging as being remapped. As soon as his went in it flagged. Just bear it in mind if you are thinking of remapping. |

Strange. I was at my local dealer last summer and talking to the workshop foreman.
They were in the process of removing a 530d engine that had gone pop. I asked the question about checking for a remap. To which he replied "we don't bother, because we can't tell" The replaced it under warranty. |

I don't think dealers are actively looking as they want the warranty work, it seems to happen when the car is plugged into the diag machine. It's a bmw Germany thing.
I think you just need to be prepared that if you do it you might invalidate you warranty and goodwill.. |
