Major upgrade to base audio system
As most of you know, the base audio system from BMW leaves a lot to be desired, especially for someone who appreciated a good system.
For those interested, here's what I had done: JL Audio CleanSweep® CL441dsp OEM Audio Interface BSW Stage 1 upgrade for front only (upgraded 4" speakers and addition of tweeters) Swapped under-seat 6.5" speakers for factory Hi-Fi 8" Above two powered by a JL Audio XD400/4 amp JL Audio Stealthbox® containing 2 JL Audio 13TW5-3 subs Subs powered by a JL Audio 500/1v2 amp Should be thumping!! The guys at Soundscape Car Audio in McKinney (http://www.soundscapecaraudio.com) did an absolutely amazing installation job! The amp rack was completely custom and much more than I was expecting. They made the cover to resemble the look of the door panel complete with curved wood trim! The sound quality of the BSW upgrade speakers is awesome! A huge improvement over the stock speakers. And the Stealthbox produces really good, clear, hard bass. Here's a couple pics of the Stealthbox and amp rack installed. Enjoy!

Wow, beautiful job! Just to warn you though, BSW speakers have been known to fail with aftermarket amp power, so be careful, and be prepared to change those out in the future!

I don't know what an MS8 is, but the CleenSweep basically takes all the OEM audio signals (Radio, Sat Radio, Nav, Bluetooth, etc.) and outputs a cleaner, flatter signal before it goes into the amps. I still have OEM volume control for everything and didn't have to worry about what kind of outputs the factory system has. Especially useful since everything runs through the iDrive...

ms-8 does much more than the cleansweep
It provides 8 channels of surround sound and is self calibrating.
The channel output is only 18 watt per channel into 4 ohm or 30 into 2 ohm though. |

so my radio does not have any audio. Ive tried the fuses and and it doesn't seem to be any burnt fuses. This situation happened to me a while back where one day i came into my car, it stopped working. i went into the dealership and they wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for 1 hour to "reprogram" it. can anyone help me?

I had an installer put everything in, but as far as I know they tapped the signal from the speaker wire.
