All post turbine I suppose is the only option.

Well, your right, but thermocouples are pretty cheap now. I figured with all the techies here someone would have mounted one by now.

not that I know of, but it is a great idea.
I wonder if the tuners have even monitored them, I hope so for everyone's sake. does the factory ECU somehow monitor these or use some fancy caluculation to estimate them?

If I recall, one of Shiv's first posts on this board alluded to the stock tune being fairly lean and that egts were fairly high and that running the engine rich cooled things down. Frankly this makes no sense to me from a thermodynamic standpoint as more power through the same space should result in higher egts.
Larger diameter DPs should lower egts over stock DPs for the same tune. |

I imagine the DI will raise temps a little. I figure anything in the 1200-1250 range should be good.
It is possible to get lower EGTs with more fuel, but it usually takes timing changes also. If the timing is really retarded, some fuel burn could still be occurring at exhaust valve opening. I think that would be observed on a thermocouple that was ahead of the scroll but not post.
