Aftermarket navi question

I have a 2007 e90 335xi. I don't have idrive, so I'm wondering what is the best aftermarket navigation/head-unit out there. I want navi, Bluetooth calling, Bluetooth audio, iPhone connectivity, aux. Something that is going to fit right in the center console. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I have the Alpine S920HD and I am happy with it. I need to get the Janus double din kit because the Metra kit doesn't fit very good. The 927hd also looks nice.

General consensus is that Pioneer is the best one. I find them to be terribly un-user friendly. So I don't like them. I usually go with Kenwood. Best bet is to go to a stereo shop and play with the display models and see what you prefer best for yourself.

+1 any of the better alpine kenwood or pioneer headunits are good it's just personal preferance.

The Janus double din kit and the connects2 harness with swc are needed to install it properly.

I really despise the look of that Janus kit with the heater controls above. Plus I'm not sure how much the shifter blocks the screen with it. But the Metra kit just fits so horribly that I might switch.

That's exactly what I thought at first, but now I'd rather have the headunit on the bottom and have it fit properly.

Looking at the metra kit I think it could be modified to fit better. I think if I grind down the top area of the dash, and mount the headunit at less of an angle, there will be more room for the climate control. It would be alot of work, but I might give it a try. I am fairly sure I can get it flush with the headunit still on top.

I was thinking of this, but it is likely to be the same as the zenec /eonon products. With perhaps a little more local support.

Pioneer is top notch. Had one on my old e90 and looked almost stock.

While it may suffer from some of the same issues as the Dynavin unit, at least on paper it does look much better than the other android based units out there.

Hardware specs, and Android version are much better on this unit than Dynavin.

Of course, things like build quality, software glitches, interface, are all things that don't show up on paper.

Agree... my Pioneer AVIC X-920BT looks great in my E90, especially given you can customize the backlight to match the OEM colour.
