Will this work on e91's? Which existing lights are used for the rear fogs?

Thanks for the DIY. I used a BIC plastic pen shaft and cut it to length that fit inside the white housing in the button (And Squeezed a few paper towel shreds to keep it from moving in there), then super glued the pen shaft end it to a flat plastic piece that I cut to the same size as the base, stuck it together and rear fog lights button works!

I have to say, I came across this thread today just browsing the DIY section.
I grabbed a small block of polypropylene before I left work. It took me ~45 seconds to pop the vent cover off and about another 20 seconds to pop the light switch off and out. I didn't realize just how easy it was.
I took the white plastic piece out from the front fogs and used it as a reference on the block of poly. I cut it as close as possible to try and match the exact size of the stock piece. I even cut notches where the stops would be so I did not have to make it longer than the original. Although my master piece came out ugly as shit, it slid in perfect and it lined up with the rear fog buttons.
Closed it all up,l snapped it back in, started it up, lights on....pushed the button and said hahaha that's effing cool! Makes me wonder if there are any other hidden things in these cars we can mess with
Thanks, this feature will definitely help for me, many times I can't see anything in reverse where I park, this will help to light things up. As far as tailgaters and J.O's with high beams on...... it's James Bond kinda shit

My '09 E90 LCI (produced in July 2009) does not have the 2nd white piece behind the switch.

Someone referred to the Euro switch costing $55- earlier in the thread. Does anyone know who sells it for the price? I don't feel like making mods..

Here's a dumb-ass question. Anyone take a look at the big blank push button on the left side of the switch housing. What does BMW use that for? Maybe another international option.
Anyone look to see when they took the switch apart?

Found a picture from another thread with a headlight leveling switch in the big blank location.



My 2011 had the extra "Lego" piece so all I needed to do was trim the blank switch to get the rear fogs.

Guys/Gals your crazy not to do the mod urself. Very simple just take ur time and don't rush through it. No one else s time record do you have to beat.

Being an old timer in the tech field, I would be the first to say don't attempt it if you have never done it, In this case it would be very rewarding to say "I did it".

Hey one question since I don't feel like taking it apart again, can the next person who is doing this get the part number of the plastic push button for the rear fog lights. I want to see if I can research it and find the one with the silk screen of the rear fog light on it and see if it can be ordered although I highly doubt it.

Not sure why people want to be so cheap when doing something to there ride. Just order the factory replacement and plug and play. You have a BMW, so if want to be a cheap ass get a different ride.

I don't think you can just order the button. I just ordered this entire switch from ECS to pull the silkscreened button to use on my switch. It was on clearance for super cheap!
